(or however it is called in Grand Theft Auto) under lockdown due to both the pandemic and the Capitol Hill riots would have been clever and bold, although it might be for the best, as Rockstar clearly lacks the courage and maturity to tackle those topics.

Development timelines aside, it wouldn't be much fun as a game. I'm from Belfast, we've had stag nights with bigger bodycounts than 1/6.

This looks so much like a modded GTA V that I assumed it had to be fake... but I guess it isn't?

 

I never played GTA Online (except the first week it came out), only the singleplayer, so I have very fond memories of GTA V. I like to return to it now and then just to mess around. I have no interest in any GTA 6 online stuff, SP or bust for me. It's a great sandbox and RDR2 in my opinion was an imperfect masterpiece that is still probably the most technologically impressive game to ever come out. (I do wish it got a singleplayer DLC that was War of the Worlds themed, but alas I guess that wasn't meant to be.)

 

Wonder what the backstory is behind the leak. I know Rockstar has apparently been trying to fix their horrid work culture, who knows if that has happened at all...

I disagree. A lockdown would have been a rather clever way to justify being unable to access the whole map from the get-go and having mobs of paranoid, gun-toting wannabe insurrectionists roaming the streets could have justified all sorts of wacky hijinks. Plus the early days of the pandemic are full of anecdotes that would make for fun satirical quests, like getting in fights over paper towels, dealing with hoarders and driving snakes oil salespersons out of town; it would have been an interesting chance of pace from the usual crime stuff.

Haven't you learned yet that Doomworld isn't the place to discuss topics like this? The only thing starting a conversation like this will lead to is a thread lockdown. I'm not even necessarily disagreeing with you, as GTA has always been satirical and current, but it's not nice to come into someone else's thread and start poking a very obvious hornet nest.

Still haven't finished any of the other ones, always run out of steam halfway through. Think the first Red Dead Redemption was the only Rockstar game I actually managed to finished, not even tried the sequel just watched my girlfriend play.

Doing a little scrutinizing of the visuals here: Aside from the obvious polycount increases, it looks roughly comparable, graphically, to the remastered version of GTA V. The skins of the NPCs and things like wet reflective surfaces are about equivalent to what we saw there. Since this is obviously an unfinished build with a lot of details and touch-ups missing, I'm curious as to what it will look like closer to release.

 

 

Work-from-home flexibility may be on the line? Ooohh baby, that's gotta sting.

Yeah, it's fake guys there will be no Grand Theft Auto VI until like 2030's or 2040's.

 

It's similar to that fake Fallout 3 remaster from 2019 where they used a stock video of a theatre countdown.

Yeah, those games are getting too big for their own good. The only GTA games I have finished or rather played through the entire story are IV and The Lost and the Damned DLC; I remember giving up on The Ballad of Gay Tony early on due to being mostly fed up with GTA IV as a whole.

 

Incidentally, the best memories I have of the game are the times I drove around between missions listening to the in-universe radio talk shows. Imagine that: they spent so much time and efforts into crafting a vast, realistic sandbox world fashioned after New York and yet the things that left the biggest impression for me are a bunch of radio plays that leave the visuals up to my imagination. :S

The first thing I thought when I saw the gameplay is "Is this just a Watchdogs beta?", the movement and interaction with the world looks almost identical at this current stage (See: floaty, disjointed, spending most it hunched over).

 

But apparently this is actually GTA, and it looks about as finished as I'd expect at this point because we all know Rockstar still got that GTA: V zombie on that life support, nowhere near a finished product.

This build is confirmed now (read that above post) i feel like this build is earlier than the probably current build, so many placeholder models,  debugging parameters, etc... i'm questioning if a build was compiled without the debug parameters, when i first watched the video those debugging params almost got me to think that this is fake as the leaker is probably trying to make people believe that this is a special hackerman company only build

 

Can't wait till the same guy leaks DOOM 7!

Many of the leaked alpha and beta builds I have tinkered with usually come with the debug settings fully accessible (easily accessed via hotkey or console command), it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for this build to also be like that.
