Goody Posted September 23, 2022 I like to journal! I like to keep a few for different purposes and one thing I like to do is track progress of the games I'm playing. Naturally, I play a lot of Doom, so I do a lot of journaling about Doom levels. I use a Hobonichi Techo, which is a daily planner with a grid layout. It's really fun to jot some thoughts down and include some doodles and such. I thought it might be fun to share! (for those that want to read my terrible handwriting) Spoiler "Deathless is a really good set of levels. Quite a bit harder than the IWAD but definitely manageable. The only really new assets [that I noticed] were the skyboxes and the megasphere. Even so, he really does a lot with (mostly) stock Doom textures. What I've really enjoyed were the Doom 2 level remakes." 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

Fernito Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) That's indeed super cool! And I love the cacodemon doodle :) I also have some sort of a hand-written journal where I keep track of my mapping ideas, here some pics: Spoiler Sorry about the coffee/tea stains, and good luck trying to make sense out of the things I wrote, that's tough even for me :) Edited September 23, 2022 by Fernito 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

They are giving me some ideas for things I want to make. Thanks for sharing! Promise they'll be different enough from what you made from them. And you'll get full credit for inspiration... 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Goody Posted September 23, 2022 Seeing the level sketches is really interesting! It makes me want to sit down and learn Doom Builder and give it a shot myself some day. oh and the marker bled through so I took advantage of that and doodled a pain elemental flexing his biceps on the next page 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I really appreciate the comments and I'm glad you could get some inspiration from these shots! I'll be looking forward to whatever you implement based on them :) 56 minutes ago, Goody said: oh and the marker bled through so I took advantage of that and doodled a pain elemental flexing his biceps on the next page [pic] Aww, that flex! :D 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
TSJ Posted September 26, 2022 I am a fan of keeping some of the old timey things going like handwriting etc so I use a physical kalender to keep track of all my appointments during a week I also prefer that as it cant run out of power or fail in unexpected ways 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
