HorseJockey Posted September 26, 2022 My Grandfather has a pretty awesome woodshop that I used to go into and fiddle around, haven't made anything in over a decade. I needed a birthday present for a friend of mine so I decided to pick my Grampa's brain, he helped me out quite a bit with this project, I think it came out quite awesome but would love to get some opinions on it. I toyed around with the idea of doing a full mirror in the lid, but ended up going with the smaller framed one for some contrast. The leopard print felt like material is specifically for the person I made this for as she loves prints like that. The wood used are actually interlocking cedar planks that my Grampa had laying around, he showed me how to cut off (Read: he cut off haha) the interlocking part and we just used the leftover plank to make the sides and top. The chain is a necklace I picked up at the hobby shop and took apart so that only the larger links remained, as I didn't need the fastener or any of the other hardware on it. Last but not least added several coats of clear poly for protection and to make it shiny. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
