DOOM 32X Resurrection OST (+DOOM 2!)

Recommended Posts

Hello, there! If y'all saw the Cacowards last year, you might have caught a glimpse of the Doom 32X Resurrection project by @Vic. I'm responsible for the music of that port, which I had made a couple years prior just for fun, but regardless, I'm very happy to see that people are enjoying in such a "bigger, badder, better version" of Doom for the 32X. So, I thought I'd make my debut on the forums with a few extra goodies!
I've not only covered DOOM 1's OST, but DOOM 2 as well. AND I took the liberty of compiling the covers into PWAD files, so you can play the original games on PC and still enjoy FM synth goodness to accompany your demon-slaying escapades! I also included the MP3s for all the tracks, too! ;)

I sincerely hope you all enjoy! ^^

DOOM II:

Do you happen to have the original tracker files (or at least VGMs) used to produce these? Presumably you're using something like Deflemask or Furnace?

Radical! Do you plan on doing TNT Evilution next?

I actually already did TNT with Molkirill, but I figured that should get its own post since he was the driving force behind that project. I’m a little new here, so I’ll have to check to see if he’s already posted here.

I do, yes. For DOOM 1, I used DefleMask but in the middle of DOOM II, I migrated to Furnace Tracker. I also have the VGMs for both. I can update the 7z to include those later tonight. :)

Stay awesome.

Too bad we don't do ROM hacks on Project2612, but I admire your work all the same. :)

Stuff like this always stokes that little thing in the back of my mind that goes "I'd really love to learn how to use these trackers and create some tunes."

Dude no way! You're such a legend. I remember listening to your reworked 32X DOOM OST before D32XR even got considered.

At some point I’d love to make some video tutorials for Furnace Tracker to put on my channel, so hopefully anyone who wants to make this kinda stuff will have everything they need to go nuts with it, heheh.

Took a listen and it's fun to reminisce on all of the time I spent in Adlib Tracker ][ as I hear these sounds.  Nothing quite like trying to figure out how to get the OPL3 to sound like the OPM and OPN with some nominal success.

Would love to see these tutorials on furnace - I tried it after moving from Deflemask but some of the stuff just didn't make sense and I haven't really made time to properly adjust to the interface.

I tried searching for it ("Molkirill TNT") to no avail. However, I was able to find it uploaded on YouTube. Good job, by the way: Sadistic now sounds like it belongs in a kickass beat 'em up for the Sega Genesis. :D

Oh, and listening to your covers of the Doom II secret levels now makes me wish you could do Wolfenstein 3D as well.

Either way, thank you and keep up the good work!

I did actually start making those as well, though I think someone else did a version for an actual Genesis homebrew Wolf3D that sounds more like the original PC soundtrack? I might still come back to it at some point, ‘cause I’ve got all the songs from episode 1 covered already, and I like beefing up the texture for stuff like that, heheh.

Yeah, that is what I like to hear, literally! :D
