So, I have made RandomMap 1 and 2, and it's time to end this trilogy with RandomLongMap!

This map is bigger and better than the previous maps, and this time I tried something different...

(This map was also made as a part of the NaNoWADMo challenge of October 2022)

Edit: Turns out my video didn't record for some reason -.-

 

I'll just say what i have to say.

 

1) I didn't find a way to deal with the cyberbullies, so I went for a mostly pacifist route. Until the pinky cave, I didn't fire a single shot.

2) This map gives minecraft vibes. it looks great and feels great.

3) That lift platform was seriously infuriating.

4) chaingunner strictly for the purpose of giving a chaingun, or it had another purpose? most of the time, he died. The times he didn't die, he killed me or I shot him dead. Not sure what you went for with him. 

 

Other than that, cool map. Not long at all, took me about 20 minutes total, 5 minutes for a successful run. Habitat or Safari would have been a perfect name for this map.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the Cybeemonds were doing here when the player's not really given the means to handle them unless they are SSd to death and even then, there's not quite enough. Maybe 1 or 2 cybers will still be alive if you use that and some rockets but yeah, it's bad.

Just finished on UV + Brutal Doom (v 2.1) mod. (the latter might change some behaviour, usually it becomes harder, however, dealing with Cyberdemons... well, it depends.)

Well. It's an okay map. Textures are nice, architecture is okay, balancing... is not. One could see it as a challenge, or simply not play on UV, but oooph... 5 Cybies and a few other monsters? With a standard shotgun?

It takes a while until you find a chaingun, SSG, rocket launcher and some more ammo, and whatever BrutalDoom troopers drop. It is possible to do it, with 100% kills but it's tedious, not really fun, esp. for a MAP01. Otherwise it was a nice map, maybe short even.

 

PS: The Revenants and hitscanners didn't improve the situation when you're trying to outrun a Cybie in some kind of closed arena where you have one trigger to lower a lift (similar to the famous MAP30 one) that will get up to the upper area.
