Replaces E1M1. Tested in GZ and DSDA, absolutely nothing custom, only the flat and textures @thelamp picked (WOOD5, COMPOHSO, GRAY7, MFLR8_2). No custom sky, no music, nothing.

and since you're basing this on 50 Shades of Graytall, your one and only flat will be:

MFLR8_2

 

This looks like a ton of fun and I need a little thing to get some juices flowing. For the sake of sanity I think I am going to replace MFLR8_2 with FLAT5_4 and CEIL5_2 and throw SW1BLUE into the mix but I am like 40% into a map's geometry with these.

For anyone looking for mono-texturing inspiration, here's a mod I made but I'm not sure if I've ever shared:

MonoTextureMod.zip

 

Most of the code was written by @Nash for a mod that replaces all textures with fireblu. My own version randomly picks one from 86 arguably nice-looking textures I selected, every time you load a level.

 

It would be cool to see someone improve it further - maybe with an option to let the player choose the texture, or a second texture for interactive linedefs, or more.

@RastaManGames Not at all! Gotta throw a few curve balls at the player to keep them on their toes, after all. Lots of verticality, but I could see enough to spot enemies and retaliate. ammo/health balance felt fair too

Funny story, wound up in the hospital so I haven't been able to respond. Lots of interesting and wonderfully sadistic textures here. I didn't mean to use custom textures in the WAD, but I've gotten so many good ones that I'm willing to edit the original post. Thanks to everyone who's been participating!

Hey, I made another map this time using the prompt by @TheHambourgeois. It's a sorta micro slaughter styled map with two regular fights and a secret one.

I got through all your maps 1 way or another except one but that mapper probably knows who they are lol

 

really good times - especially impressed by your map @Alaxzandarz I dont think I ever met you before - mean but with a glimmer of hope - nothing felt like full on bs - and what you did with just 3 is amazing

 

@knifeworld @thelamp never thought someone would attempt my horrendous texture choices - bravo!

 

its amazing how creative and what can be done with just 3 textures eh

@Clippy Thanks, dude! I am very appreciate your walkthrough of my poor entry.

 

Funny that you somehow managed to grab green armor from the small secret in the pit, but doesn't triggered sector's special after it.

And crazy thing about rocket launcher! I did not expected it to stuck there, 'cause you did it very right (step by step). I am blame myself already that I chose Vanilla over Boom, 'cause ol'good conveyors are superior scripts.

Without freelook, I think, only two SS Nazis are hard to hit, 'cause they are spawning on the highest "floor" on that room.

"Hello! Arch-Vile just was here?" That was hilarious phrase after being chased by crowd of HellKnights, Ravenants & Chaingunnres!

Also, as you can see, I burned out on this map before its end, so that's why last room was tiny and mean (you can say that, 'cause there was three monster's corpses and two dead marines).

 

After all, I am glad that you are really enjoyed this map. Also, you missed two secrets, but you was very close to discover them.

 

P.S.: If we ever gonna compile a WAD out of our entries, then I can do a little fixing for few things (including a fully remaking of last room to make it more interesting).
