Thanks for playing my map! In hindsight, the map looks fine in software mode as well.

During testing, I was trying to beat the map in pacifist mode but never managed to do so. Nice to see you take this approach as well. In fact, you didn't need to kill the Archviles because if you stay near the central pillars you are too far away for them to target you.

My biggest concern for gameplay was that the caco-cloud was too big and too grindy to deal with, but I liked the spectacle of having all those projectiles flying towards you when they first appear. I've added plenty of ammo because I thought circling the cloud and waiting until everything died through infighting would bore some players after a while.

WARNING: there is a staircase that you can fall off of that will require you to IDCLIP back to continue playing.

 

My laptop is on its last legs, so I'm uploading a near finished but not quite finished level. Work needing done, some mundane graphics fixes on the 1st corridor, combat tweaking and a redesign and lighting work on the last area.

 

Configuration: Boom Doom 2(D.F)

Map: 01

Source port tested: PRBoom plus(2.6.2)

 

I'll appreciate some feed back although I'm not going to make major changes to it just yet. I've got some other levels that I need to work on and real life stuff to attend to.

Played it! Really impressive aesthetic given the textures! Interesting progression as well. Had a bunch of broken pop-up traps (augh I'm looking at it now and it's because I loaded it in cl2 damn it). Might replay this at some point in proper complevel

Really enjoyed this, good combat and the intertwining pathways were really well done.

Thanks for playing. I have no idea what went wrong with those pop up traps. I need to work on my quality control. Some of the ambush flags were not properly set either. 

 

Thanks for filming it, it gives me an idea of what to improve.

Okay so you know these text your choices were a joke right but the fact that you actually made something this amazing out of it has me totally impressed I absolutely loved it. You can tell time and detail and creativity was put into this the flattening buttons and stuff and the combat was spicy and interesting too

 

To make something actually worthwhile out of my intentionally terrible choices is super impressive man super impressive

Okay, there are understandably some deliberately hard challenges in this thread. But how about something nice and easy to get the mapping juices flowing? Three textures and three flats that fit nicely together.

I have made a map with the following textures/flats:

BROWNWEL, MFALL, SUPPORT3/FLAT1, FLAT10, SLIME01

playtested in -cl9 but I didn't even end up using boom triggers so run it however you want

📗 Difficulty Settings: Yes ("Hard" spawn filter may be a bit too spicy).

📗 Multiplayer Stuff: Cooperative player starts and some DM stuff (but this map is not intended to be played in DM).

📗 Special Rules: No jumping. No crouching. Freelook is allowed.


📙 Description: Stucco? Nah. It is more like moss or mold. This thing is everywhere now and you must escape from this part of underground U.A.C. facility as fast as you can, if you not want to met the fate of being eaten alive by this "stucco". But who said that this is gonna be so easy, huh?
📙 Notes: I am big fan of FLAT5_5, but also I am big enemy of RROCK04, especially when it is used w/o BIGBRIK1 texture. It was some kind of headache for me to make something a bit interesting with only 2 flats out of 3, but I hope that my task was completed.
