always fun to see what ppl do with these texture limitations - very brown very cool - that crazy door nobody uses and nice peek at next map - always fun to see something in development see what it is later good times

How did you make the sky? I suppose it's from stalker. How did you turn it from cubic skybox to panorama?

Yes. It is from "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.", indeed.

I just grabbed all four textures that was for back, left, front and right side of the potential skybox and then I add all of them on the one "line" to make a "long" sky like in previous post by @Geodesic Dome Enthusiast.

Since i'm doing my Ultimate Doom map set at the moment i wanna toss this insane idea for one.

 

For Doom 1 wall textures as follow:

 

Brownhug

 

Stone 2

 

Shawn 2

 

For floor and ceiling:

 

Flat_1

 

Cratop 2

 

For Doom 2 wall textures as follow:

I can't wait to see how this turns out. And this was more on the fly so i am sorry if things sound weird

Yeah, but I thought it would be more fun if each map had a different set of textures. Plus I think there are some interesting combinations that haven't received any attention.

Personally, I am thinking that this is really fun to see what several mappers can do with one particular set of textures.

I have an idea, try and make a flat out of one of the 3 textures I gave you, hope that helps :)

 

I really don't care if you just convert them to doom palette and be done with it, hopefully though they would still appear fine in-game. I'm not really what you would call a "vanilla purist" but HOPEFULLY, my little idea about making a flat out of one of the textures should work. And HOPEFULLY, the conversion from .PNG to .LMP will work as well.

 

If all else fails, I'll compile something with the textures so that it's vanilla compatible, and has a flat, most likely a wad.

Quite nice to see that this thread is still going. I'm currently making a map using the textures suggested by Walter Confetti quite a while ago.
