Biodegradable Posted November 26, 2022 Two-shotting a Cyber, like anything, just takes practice once you get the hang of how the BFG's tracers work and the Cyber's attack patterns. I recommend watching how @Pseudonaut does it in this video right here as it'll help you understand the basic "dance" you need to perform with the Cyber. Took me quite a while before I got the hang of it and really get a better understand of BFG tracers. But if you stick to it, you'll find yourself pulling tricks like this: 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Wyrmwood Posted November 26, 2022 This is something I really need to work on, I seem to average around 4 shots to take one down. Thing is I usually pistol start and I suck at finding secrets so I don't even have a BFG on a lot of maps. Got used to drawing herds of enemies to them, let them fight and then finish with rockets or plasma. Sounds like a useful skill though, I'll have to find a good map to practise. If I remember map 6 or 7 on Doom ep4, the one with the pillar with 4 lifts in the center of an acid pit has a lone Cyber and a BFG (killed me 5 or 6 times!). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

In addition to that thread GarrettChan linked earlier, I'd suggest just opening E1M8 and typing IDKFA for the most basic practice. Or throwing together a 30 second map with a cyber, BFG, and 40 cells. There's also this practice map made by Nine Inch Heels.... I think someone sent this to me or I dug it up out of the speedrunning discord forever ago, when I was looking for more than just that 15-in-2 map. It's Boom, so -complevel 9. 2s1k.zip 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

That practice map sounds handy too though, thank you. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Pistoolkip Posted November 26, 2022 I practiced this. So yes, I can do it. It's something you need to practice to get good at, because you need to learn the rhythm 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

dybbuk81 Posted November 26, 2022 It usually takes me 4 hits (160 cells) for some reason. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
