james ferraro is lowkey one of the most important multidisciplinary artists from my generation. about 90% of the time, artwork made for his releases look exactly as it sounds, it's absurd. hoping desolation seed turns out to be enjoyable....

going to extend "from 2009" to "anything before far side virtual" (which is a perfect album but pairs much better with firestorm viewer rather than doom builder or trenchbroom)

I don't really map for classic doom, but when I map for other games (notably, Doom 3) I have a tendency to utilize militaristic music. The idea here being that I want to create something similar to Doom 3's briefing videos. A militaristic base, which I can then degrade with demonic invasion as I please. Great choices, I tend to also listen to something chillout, ambient or soothing in general when doing creative (or else silence). More fast paced things or metal doesn't work on me, even if I like that kind of music too, but I get distracted when I want to focus.

I personally can't listen to any music while I'm mapping - It just distracts me and my mind is much more clear without it. If I could, I'd listen to D.R.I or Sabbath.
