A Look at The Figma Doom Slayer Figure

Recommended Posts

After being announced well over a year ago, the Figma Doom Slayer figure has finally released. I initially was not planning on even getting this, but after thinking about it a bit I said the hell with it and decided to give it a go. I'm not a huge fan of the newer Doom games, or even it's designs, so I was worried I'd have buyers remorse once I had received it. So far I've been fairly surprised by it.

Here it is with my custom old school Doomguy:

There's a ton of small details and intricate paint work all over it, the articulation is pretty nice, the sculpting looks great and it comes with a decent amount of stuff included. It's also a bit weighty, so it stands on its own pretty good.

There are things to love and hate about it though. Like the joints on the arms. I'm not too bothered by it, but it's pretty noticeable that the joints are a lighter color. I also don't know if it's just my copy or not, but the pelvis joints on the legs are slightly looser than I'd like them to be. I'm also not too big on the Super Shotgun...imo, it's probably my least favorite part because the paint feels a little lacking compared to everything else; and on top of that, mines a little warped down the barrels due to the fact that it's made out of a soft plastic for some reason. The barrels also aren't drilled out...

Overall, I give it a solid 8/10. It'll sit nicely next to my classic Doomguy on my desktop.

Looks fantastic. Still waiting on mine from Japan. How does the bfg fit in the hands? Any issues ?

Your pics are really great; would you be ok with the first two being used on the Doom Wiki?

Thanks, I'm perfectly fine with them being put on the Wiki. :^)

@Gougaru

The BFG is actually made of a hollow light weight plastic; so far I haven't had any issues with the arms not being able to hold the weapons up.
