[BETA RELEASE] - El Viaje de Diciembre

This showed up somehow in another thread (maybe an error) and I dl'd and played it hours before this thread was started. Spooky. 

 

Really good. Feels like Lost Civlization + some oldschool western wad + (somehow) TNT.

Huh. Spooky indeed.

Thanks for the demo! I'm glad you liked it. Lost Civilization and EARTH.wad are the main inspirations for this project, and TNT is always in the back of my head when mapping.

Hello There, cool themed map!! I enjoyed the theme, textures and stuff. Nice and easy for the first map of this project as it should be =) Looking forward to see map 2 and the others and wish u good luck!

Thank you all for your videos and comments! Once I finish the 6 maps I'll tweak, balance and compile them into a proper mapset.

The second map is pretty much finished now, I'll upload it tomorrow morning.

MAP02 is here! This one has a lot more action than MAP01, but is smaller and has worse texture work. Development on this one didn't go as smooth as the first map, but I'm still happy with the result.

Thanks for the video! I actually spotted an error in the map while watching it. At the YK courtyard (4:15 in the video) you can shoot one of the switches on the walls before pressing the metal switch. If you do that, the platform will raise more than intended and will display a HOM when seen from the inside of the small cave room. I'll fix this once I finish the 6 maps and start compiling everything. Again, thank you Rata :)

 

I've got 'till tomorrow night to finish map03. Been brainstorming ideas, like a broken down barrel factory on the side of a hill something like that. Here's a small shot:

Made a bunch of progress on map03 yesterday! I'm happy with how it's turning out so far.

Now, I've got to build 3 sections in order to finish the map: a residential area, a factory/storage zone, and a small electric plant.

Here's a couple shots of what I have so far:

As promised, MAP03 is here! The words 'techbase' and 'rustic' don't go together usually, but I think 'rustic techbase' describes this map well.  It's a explosive barrel factory with a busy courtyard, a storage sector and living quarters for the employees (what's left of them anyway). It's the biggest one so far, and the hardest too. There should be enough health scattered around, but if you run out of ammo there's always berserk! Special thanks to @Eye del Cul! The courtyard is built off of E2M2 from his megawad; Death in the ass of the Universe. They gave full permission in the text file to modify their levels.

First two maps were a blast! I'm stuck right at the start of the third map (after clearing the courtyard) though. The design of the maps is quite unique and feels great. Keep it up :)

Thank you for the words! After clearing the courtyard you have to head east, go up the left stairs at the end of the long hall and press the switch at the reception desk. Then you can proceed to the hallway next to it.

MAP04 is ready! This one is short, but very fast paced. It's a christian church in a hill with a couple outdoor vistas. It's a pretty simple map technically speaking; it's pretty much choosing one of 2 ways to get to the blue key, then backtracking back to the start where la salida is. I wanted to make a map with lots momentum, lots of just running forward and shooting everything in your way. You can make good use of the RL here! There's enough rockets and armor to rely on it for most of the map. Special thanks to @Fookerton for the awesome midis :)

There's a problem with GZDoom then. No switch to be seen there, but I can press it 'blind'.

Ah, you're using the outdated resources then. Try redownloading VIAJEDRE.wad from the OP
