BrutalDoomisAwesome Posted December 9, 2022 Hydrox or Oreo's A small back story about Hydrox sandwich cookies. It debuted in the United States in 1908, and was manufactured by Sunshine Biscuits for over 90 years. Hydrox was largely discontinued in 1999, three years after Sunshine was acquired by Keebler, which was later acquired by Kellogg's. In September 2015, the product was reintroduced by Leaf Brands. A small back story about Oreo cookies. It was introduced by Nabisco on March 6, 1912, and through a series of corporate acquisitions, mergers and splits both Nabisco and the Oreo brand have been owned by Mondelez International since 2012. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Mr. Freeze Posted December 9, 2022 Hydrox sounds like a type of bleach. Oreos all the way. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted December 9, 2022 Hydrox was unlucky to end up sounding like washing detergent. If it's anything like common Oreo knock-offs (I know it came first) then I probably would enjoy it though. Oreos are good, but kinda "sickly sweet" for me, especially without milk. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Murdoch Posted December 9, 2022 Sugar bombs. Pass on both. But yes hydrox sounds like something i should use in my washing machine for whiter whites and brighter colours. A deeply ill conceived name for a cookie. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post

TheMagicMushroomMan Posted December 9, 2022 Hydrox sounds like a futuristic drug, like it's the krokodil of 2197. I imagine that it tastes like electronic screen cleaner mixed with windshield wiper fluid. Oreos are okay but they're kind of bland, unlike Doritos. I voted for Hydrox. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chealien Posted December 9, 2022 Oreos are pretty good, never had Hyrdox. However, like everyone else said, Hydrox sounds like a really fancy drug 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

My mom also loves Tim Tams, to the point that she always puts them inside refrigerator (even in days because our family is used to living frugal) because she finds them best eaten cold like that. As for me, I usually just chow them all down in a single sit, just because. :P 2 hours ago, leejacksonaudio said: Consider when they debuted in the U.S. (1908). (Shamelessly copy-pasted from good ole Wikipedia) Quote In 1908, the cookie's creation was inspired by "purity and goodness", with a name derived from the hydrogen and oxygen elements within the water molecule. So yeah, even though nowadays it just doesn't sound all too good, it's interesting from an etymological perspective. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Azuris Posted December 9, 2022 Prinzenrolle and then put it into coffee, yamyam. And yesterday i've seen Jaffa Cakes in sandwitch Style: I don't like Oreos. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doom_Dude Posted December 9, 2022 I don't like chocolate. I used to love it but something changed... Never heard of Hydrox cookies. I'll go with Maple Leaf cookies. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I didn't like Oreo's when I was little because back in my day, they didn't have much in the variety department... I only ate the vanilla filling. I, for one, am SO glad they now have like, I dunno, more than 50 flavors today? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

SuyaSSS Posted December 9, 2022 Did Hydrox really need the Hydro part. That's mostly what leads to it sounding like a detergent name. But, I never had Hydrox, so, it is Oreo all the way. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Doomkid Posted December 10, 2022 Cookies with a bit of jam in the middle like that are indeed delicious. I think they exist in most countries, I had them in Florida/Hawaii and they’re in Australia too, but regardless I’d take them over Oreos any day. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
