How to scan something into Doom?

I've seen tons of mods where people have made scans of guns and weapons to add into Doom, and I was wondering how to do that, as I wanted to make a weapons mod for Doom. How do I do that? This may be a dumb question, but please help me lol

The term you are looking for is "custom sprites" It's the same thing for any type of custom objects.
