Quicktime Screen Recording

Recommended Posts

Some people are probably going to give me shit for using a Mac computer but I just want to remind people, if you're screen recording your Doom game play on Quicktime, you have to hit the save button after you stop recording. I lost 3 hours of game play because I hit the stop button and then quit the program without saving. I'd use OBS but I can't seem to figure out how to record clean HD video. Everything is set HD but the end result is fuzzy and crappy.

Ouch...

Am better now but have lost good work with, mic not on, disk full and even forgot to start saving. Never feels good.

I use OBS and it works great as long as I pay attention to the basics. Sounds like Quicktime is going to troll you again in the future so recommend you look into getting OBS set up to your needs.

I'm watching this when I get home from work LOL, OBS is great, I just have to figure out how to get rid of the fuzzy/blocky video, my Doom play is too fast for it to keep up ahahaha

Yeah sometimes I wanted to record a couple of things and in order to not deal with all the bitrate settings I decided to use Shadowplay, but I still think that OBS is the way to go.

Definitely recommend that you run a number of trials with different settings. You only need to get it well set up once so recommend that you record and compare a number of shorter "trial" runs with different settings. See where the trade off occurs and balance to your needs.
