Major Arlene Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) Welcome to Break Point, a 9-map Doom II UDMF episode featuring colorful 3D environments from some of the best and brightest of modern GZDoom mappers. This idea for this set was originally conjured up as an experiment for myself to see if I could stop mapping with marble for a minute and make a techbase. Supercharge 2.9 is included in this PK3. Loading other mods on top may have unintended side effects or crashes. Maps are tested both in continuous and pistol start. Supercharge has a pistol start feature you can use for ease of pistol-starting each map. Please play in Vulkan mode, or hardware mode if your hardware does not support Vulkan. You may need a beefier computer to play this as maps take full advantage of current GZDoom/UDMF options. Please have dynamic lights and brightmaps enabled for best visual effects. Be sure to bind a reload key! Freelook is recommended at least for MAP08, but for everything if you want to see cool ceilings! SPECIAL THANKS: To my fellow mappers! Vile Posted December 19, 2022 Excellent set, not that I need an excuse to play a Supercharge mapset but this was quite complimentary to it. Unfortunately the levels were a bit dark and I didn't realize until afterwards it was because I had dynamic lights turned off, but that was my mistake. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Supercharge has specific Things for mappers to override those - both the weapon and the chaingunguy variants - so that mappers can force one or the other in sets where they've been balanced specifically for one of the two. so I reckon that's what's happening here 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I've been playing without mouselook and it's been working out fine. boris Posted December 21, 2022 Played the rest of the maps. Really nice map set overall. Length and difficulty of the maps was pretty much perfect for me. In map 6 some of the floor slopes are annoying because it's easy to get stuck on them due to the weird pysics. I didn't find the exit to the secret map, so I had to warp to it. Very unique map. Boss map spoiler: Spoiler Reading the map name I was a bit wary because I was expecting yet another icon of sin map. That it wasn't so was a nice surprise, it's actually a pretty cool fight. For whatever reason the map didn't end the first time I got Abadon and the Sinful Gate to 0 hitpoints. Work the second time. NovaRain Posted December 25, 2022 Just finished the wad. It's still possible to pick up a chaingun from chaingun guys in map06 with the SC option enabled, probably an oversight (placing the normal variant instead of clip/AR dropping ones). Got my butt kicked at the boss(es) a few times. I was hoping killing one would stop the reinforcement, only to run out of ammo and overwhelmed by mobs. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
