[GZDOOM] BREAK// POINT// - FINAL [now on /idgames!]

1. it was an accident to find a secret level, you can immediately see the work of all the mappers who made fragments and reunions of this map into one), the whole set went through and I really liked it, I'm counting on the second episode! :)

 

2. and Tango, as always, did a hard job for his gamemod!:)

Excellent set, not that I need an excuse to play a Supercharge mapset but this was quite complimentary to it.  Unfortunately the levels were a bit dark and I didn't realize until afterwards it was because I had dynamic lights turned off, but that was my mistake.

This map combined with supercharge is a bit much for my PC, but, still playable. Hopefully I can make it to the end without my computer catching on fire haha

While Break Point seems taking my Supercharge settings, the "chaingun replace assault rifle" setting doesn't work.

On the maps there are only placed assault rifles and the variant of chaingun guy that drops only clips on death.

Supercharge has specific Things for mappers to override those - both the weapon and the chaingunguy variants - so that mappers can force one or the other in sets where they've been balanced specifically for one of the two. so I reckon that's what's happening here

Correct, this set has been balanced for the assault rifle.

Yeah this has @Major Arlene's signature written all over it. These grandesque manifestations of hell is a trait and it keeps on looking awesome. The whoa moment is there.

 

Voters, take cue and mention this for Caco 2023 as a real early bird entry! :)

If you don´t care about 100% enemies, it´s optional. Otherwise you´ll need it for a couple of maps.

I've been playing without mouselook and it's been working out fine. I did miss some perched enemies but I'll bet I could've gotten those enemies from some vantage point somewhere, if I had looked around for one

Played the first three maps so far, pretty good stuff. I'm playing on HMP and enjoy that they are not slaughtery (so far?). Videos:

Played the rest of the maps. Really nice map set overall. Length and difficulty of the maps was pretty much perfect for me.

 

In map 6 some of the floor slopes are annoying because it's easy to get stuck on them due to the weird pysics.

 

I didn't find the exit to the secret map, so I had to warp to it. Very unique map.

Reading the map name I was a bit wary because I was expecting yet another icon of sin map. That it wasn't so was a nice surprise, it's actually a pretty cool fight. For whatever reason the map didn't end the first time I got Abadon and the Sinful Gate to 0 hitpoints. Work the second time.

Checking the boss video I figured out what happened, the boss bar displays zero but it's actually something like 0.3% so the boss wasn't dead. I'll tweak the script to display 1% when that happens. Glad that you liked it despite that!

Finished the whole wad yesterday, including the secret map. Amazing mapset, really good use of the supercharge mod!

I really like the overgrown vegetation on top of brutalism going on in this map, and the sloped sectors are actually not too strange to walk on. Still feels a lot like quake haha :)

Just finished the wad. It's still possible to pick up a chaingun from chaingun guys in map06 with the SC option enabled, probably an oversight (placing the normal variant instead of clip/AR dropping ones).

Got my butt kicked at the boss(es) a few times. I was hoping killing one would stop the reinforcement, only to run out of ammo and overwhelmed by mobs.
