CawcoDemon Posted December 24, 2022 (edited) Whats the best way to use new music for a mappack? Shall I create a seperate music-wad? Or do I put the midis into the map itself? Will the midis be ignored, when I want to try a seperate music-wad? Edited December 24, 2022 by CawcoDemon 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
RataUnderground Posted December 24, 2022 The only reason to put the custom music in a separate wad its to make it optional. If you dont have any reason to do that, then simply put the midis in the maps wad and rename them with the names of the doom 2 music (D_RUNNIN for map01 music and such) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

You can just directly import your MIDI file into your WAD, then rename it so it replaces the appriopate MAPxx slot (for MAP01, the name would be D_RUNNIN). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Stabbey Posted December 26, 2022 Just make sure to put the MIDI's after all the map data. Putting them in the middle of the map data can mess up the WAD. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheHambourgeois Posted December 27, 2022 alternatively, if you are using an advanced port, you can give the midi any arbitrary name you like as long as it gets referenced in the appropriate MAPINFO 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
