Sonikkumania Posted December 29, 2022 I have seen, with another person confirming it, a parked car that literally vanished away of sight as I turned my view around and looked back. This took place near a pet cemetary. Also a person I know has a "gift" of seeing forecasting dreams when someone is about to die. What are your experiences of anything paranormal? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
volleyvalley Posted December 29, 2022 If you count sleep paralysis as experiencing the paranormal, then yes I have. I woke up and I was really sleepy, so my eyes were heavy and It took me some time to open my eyes. When I realized that I couldn't move, I looked left. I saw some sort of a green blob floating in the air, It looked somewhat similar to Shrek now that I think about. Being scared and not being able to move, I stared unto the ceiling. This time It was a shape shifting brown blob, that didn't look like anything. After that I looked back at Shrek and back to the brown blob. Eventually Shrek disappeared and the brown figure stopped shape shifting and I was able to move again! Pretty much instantly went out of my bed to get a glass of water. That was my first sleep paralysis I believe. It was a couple of months ago and it still cracks me up. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ducon Posted December 29, 2022 No. I don’t do drugs, I did not experience sleep paralysis (or I don’t remember), I’m not mental and even if I do, do or am, I won’t call this an paranormal experience. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Sleep paralysis is actually a lucid dream event. If you are able to stop struggling against your immobile body and calm yourself down, you will be able to eventually take full control of the lucid dream you're in. Jello Posted December 30, 2022 It's amazing, but once I sat down with myself, and thought about all of the spiritual and religious beliefs that I was ever taught or heard over the course of my life, I realized that it didn't make any sense whatsoever. Once I came to that realization, my total number of paranormal, spiritual, or phantasmal experiences dropped to zero. 7 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheMagicMushroomMan Posted December 30, 2022 No. I don't hold any religious beliefs, superstitions, or any of that stuff. Most people I know who talk about things like UFO's and ghosts are devout religious folks. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Sonikkumania Posted December 30, 2022 I remember that another, elderly person also told of being able to "forecast" in dreams should her relative pass away. By no means this person was a lying type. I believe we do have some hidden instinct revealing us about certaing things. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

People believe all kinds of dumb shit, due to delusion, mental illness, religion, brainwashing, stupidity, immaturity, or use of drugs. Or all of the above. My kid doesn't lie, everyone knows kids never do, but he believes in Santa Claus. As far as I'm aware it's because he's a young little dumbfuck, not because he has super powers. By your logic, every religious belief is true as long as you don't personally take the individual as a "lying type". You'll never live inside someone's head to find out how big of a liar they are, or their level of sanity. As @Jello pretty much said, it's bullshit. I think people force themselves to believe these things for fun, or because they are unable to accept the boredom of life and begin to have delusions of "magic" that they begin to preach to others naive/vulnerable/young enough to believe it. I'm all for spirituality, meditation, and all that good stuff, but I'm disturbed when people cannot accept reality. The psychic/fortune teller industry exists to squeeze money from vulnerable and depressed people, and it can fuck itself in the ass. Thelokk Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) Short answer: yes, every waking moment. Long answer: 'paranormal' is just a silly label that general consensus slapped on all that, as the term itself implies, goes outside the collective delusion the rule of the many dubbed 'normalcy'. Once you divest yourself of this veil of Maya, the very experience of life becomes 'paranormal' to an outside gaze, yet to you 'paranormal' ceases to exist. It becomes a new layer of reality that is as logical and 'normal' as breathing itself. UFOs and ghosts and divine apparitions become trifles, as they merely are your simple human mind's way of processing a different layer of reality. Religion or beliefs might or might not have to do with this. I won't get into mine as I'm sure there is a limit to a DW post length. If that is how your output is on a regular basis, I reckommend to seek professional help asap. I get it, you're a skeptic. That's allright and you had your chance to give your view. I though "Everything else" subforum is dedicated to literally everything else so why not about paranormal aspects if people do happen to have anything to add about it . Never did I mention anything about fortune tellers, it's something you bring up in your hysteria. Edited December 30, 2022 by Sonikkumania 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Wyrmwood Posted December 30, 2022 I'm a logical, scientific person who's never seen a ghost or anything like that. I've been told some weird stories over the years but always figure there's a real world answer for it all. That said, I did have a strange sleep paralysis incident. 10 hours ago, RDETalus said: Sleep paralysis is actually a lucid dream event. If you are able to stop struggling against your immobile body and calm yourself down, you will be able to eventually take full control of the lucid dream you're in. Yeah, that's what I found, when I calmed down I could move but there seemed to be no transition from asleep to awake. The strangest thing though is I've only had it four times, they were 4 nights in a row when I was staying in a hotel room and all times I was woken by it at the same time, around 2.15 am. After leaving the hotel I have never experienced it again. As I mentioned I'm not a person for ghosts and stuff, surely there's a scientific explanation but still pretty weird. Sleep paralysis was horrible, felt strapped down with a weight on my chest and tried to call for help but couldn't make a sound, lucid dream or not, not something I would ever like to experience again. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

It was the only way I could reliably lucid dream. In my 20's I would experience it every week almost. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Never saw him before in real life or whatever, also he was clearly "high-detailed" in a lack of better word to describe 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lippeth Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) I used to think so, but the more I learn how unreliable things like memory can be, and how innately skilled people are at pattern recognition to the point we are at times able to see patterns that aren't even there, and just how well wired we are for visualizing ideas and virtual concepts, the less I believe in anything. And perhaps I've dosed one too many times, but even the normal can be enough cause for panic without getting para. Edited December 30, 2022 by Lippeth 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

RDETalus Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) I don’t believe in paranormal stuff as a matter of “objective” reality, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still experience paranormal things. I think you should pay attention to paranormal experiences if you have them. There’s so much we do not understand about mind / body interaction. Psychosomatic effects as well. Paranormal experiences might be physical intuition or unconscious memories trying to tell you something important. Edited December 30, 2022 by RDETalus 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doom_Dude Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) I don't believe in any of that paranormal and religious god stuff. I used to talk to god but figured out talking to oneself is silly so I gave up and walked away from it all. I do believe in alien life. There's something going on with UFO's for sure with strange events like Roswell, Shag Harbor, the US Navy Tic Tac UFO encounter and such. I don't count that stuff as paranormal tho. It's certainly unexplained. Never had sleep paralysis and don't plan on starting.;) Sounds horrible. That's not paranormal either but helps to explain why some think there's paranormal stuff going on. If ghosts existed, then where are the dinosaur ghosts at... haha. I do know delusions are a thing. The human brain is very capable of making you see shit that not really there. Sadly. Psychics talk a bunch of bull. How come they don't find missing children and solve murders and figure out where the alien base is hidden. :P Edited December 30, 2022 by Doom_Dude 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Rykzeon Posted December 30, 2022 I've seen a video in Tiktok(I don't believe any "horror" video personally because it might staged up, or sometimes it from part of horror movies and the poster said it was real) that motorcycle rider(or his friend perhaps) videod a rusted ambulance runs itself on a curved road at night. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

But that's as truthful as people who claim to see UFO's, when in reality they are the communication lights of airplanes. I have seen plenty of flying objects that could be an UFO but if looked closer are just lights. As for paranormal, nothing. At best i feel most of mines can be chalked to a deja vu, of experiencing a situation similar to one from your memories. Edited December 31, 2022 by Redneckerz 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
