Ooo, I did try making an hexagon-only map before, not with this kind of limitations of course. Let's give it a shot!

The grid is quite small witch makes this a bit challenging, but i might give this a try

A short map that I made to experiment with the project idea.  I might come back to make a 2nd map after some more practice, but I can't promise anything.

Title:  The Spire
Filename: the-spire-v1.wad
Map Format:  Doom (limit removing)
IWAD:  DOOM2.WAD
Build Time:  About 4 hours
-complevel 2
Made for single player
Multiplayer & DM starts exist, but no additional effort was made to support multiplayer
Difficulty settings have been implemented
Jumping & Crouching are not recommended and may break parts of the map

 

Tested with:
 -GZDoom (version 4.9.0)
 -DSDA Doom (version 0.24.3)

I had some trouble trying to adapt to she small grid, but I think this map turned out ok, it is bit hard especially in UV but if you find some of it's many secrets it gets pretty manageable.

@Zion Those Doom II hanging corpse decorations make maneuvering a bit clunky since they're infinitely tall.  I suppose that's an issue of source port choice and compatibility settings, but you may want to consider using the Doom I hanging things instead.

@Sesamia You are absolutely  right, I messed up, I updated the map to rearange the corpses in a way they don't block the player, after further inspection I also noticed that some switches that weren't Doom2 limit removing compatible witch was fixed aswell, my bad guys

What's supported: All skill levels, Co-op, Deathmatch not supported

I was interested in this Project, so interested in fact I accidentally made a map for it.

 

Map Name: Hexagonal Sabbatical

Tested in Crispy doom

Midi: "Beach" from Plok!, Sequenced by Teck [Nell O'Breslin]

Deathmatch is included... wouldn't recommend playing it though 

Multiplayer is included

Jumping and crouching does not affect the map
