Oh god, Scavenger is at it again. Alright....what is it this time? What have you made for doom world now?

 

Well i'm glade you asked (said no one) i am bring you another round of fun (awful), great (terrible) and wonderful (god help us all) set of doom 2 shovel ware style maps but this time i added a twist to it, i made one yes one good map in this set but it still has the stank of shovel ware all over it.

 

These maps are totally radical dude!

These are some really good maps i found on some bootleg shovelware disks at a yard sale last year and i painfully played each and everyone of them and found 12 of the best gems, fixed them a bit in the map editor and compiled them to each map list. Now before you ask me "which shovelware disks are they" I couldn't tell you because they we're actually burnt on a CD's (Time to grab my walker) and all that we're writing was "radical Doom 2 wads!" i don't remember how many there we're on each disk but that's besides the point.

 

So with out future a due i present to you Scavenger's dumb 90's shovel ware wads for doom 2 #2: Gems i've found on shovel ware disks.

There is a read me file that i wrote for each map and there back story and oh boy...i hope you like cringe late 90's / early 00's wording because i felt ill when i finished writing them.

Slight rewording

Not a fan of the apologetic description. Even if you WAD is shit, telling it as a some sort of disclaimer will just scare away any possible players. Some people, like myself, enjoy the simplicity and odd behavior of 90s shovelware maps.

 

Sure, these maps are terrible, but there are far worse out there. It is at least a good thing that you used the opportunity to break free from mappers block. Now it is the time to make something better. Shovelware doesn't have to be shit always, there's been recently a series of shovelware inspired WADs that have been quite fun to play.

 

Keep at it.

I know there shovel ware inspired wads out there that are good, i was making them as more of poking fun at the fact there bad. I know there's good maps with in the realm of shovel ware disks and all, but it's fun to make simple dumb maps base off of simple dumb maps of the early years of doom. 

 

But the disclaimer is kinda more of a way to let people know that "i made them bad on purpose". I will probable re write it to where it's like it's more in the joking side of thing and not full blown "yeah there bad and i made them that way bad" trope.

 

And thanks, trust me i'm back at updating my Doom 1 ep. 1 map set and other projects i'm slowly getting back into.
