MIDI composition - getting started in Sekaiju

How to make MIDIs is a CONSTANT question I see on Doom discords. Many folks seem interested in Sekaiju but are intimidated by the learning curve. It's actually kind of easy once you get started, and I made this video to help demonstrate some basics. I have to give props to @Dragonfly whose video on Sekaiju I learned some of these basics from myself.

 

DISCLAIMER: It's entirely possible I've made a mistake or two (or a few) in this video but I think it's sufficient to get someone started. If there's info you feel like correcting, please absolutely do so either here or in the video comments. My aim is to help other people learn!

I've not had the chance to watch the video yet but gut feeling after quickly clicking through says this will be a good resource for people to get into composing with Sekaiju - will try to find the time tomorrow to check it out in detail!

Wow nice timing! Just did a search for Sekaiju tutorials and see that this was posted < 24 hours ago. I have a little bit of experience with the software but want to learn more, so thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting this - even as someone who's reasonably experienced with DAWs like Cubase, Reaper and Logic I find Sekaiju pretty arcane and impenetrable. This helps!
