MAP 21: Polly

My contribution, Polly. It was inspired by much of Sandy Petersen's work on Doom 2, in the way that it is a half-assed piece of shit. I made it in like an hour, and I hope you all hate it as much as i do.

edit: accidentally included doom texture like an idiot, file updated.

 I agree about the loss of the cyberdemon. I've been considering a new, cyberdemon-free titlepic....

i have an idea about the titlepic so it shows doomguy fighting a mancubus instead. i imagine that'd be as cool and fitting as the original.

Great, looks like you already broke the rules by using a flat from Doom as floor in your map (visible in both screenshots), change them with a RROCK one.

Also, the more I think about this, the more I'm curious to see what can I do with such limitations: all themes are doable somehow, but for now I try my hand at a small techbase for testing stuff so... I'll claim MAP02.

@Bagellio Nice work! Sandy is probably my favorite iD mapper and you definitely channel his style here. You do a good job of creating challenging encounters with a low monster count. Thanks for updating to replace FLAT1_1.

@Kuro_mahoh Added!
@Walter confetti Added!

@EPICALLL For now, let's limit one slot per mapper - would you prefer MAP10 or MAP29?

@NeedHealth Looking great! Interesting mix of base and brick textures.

@scientifikgenius Yeah, I've been playing with the covers to both editions of the Infernal Sky book, which feature a mancubus, though they don't palettize very gracefully....

Just a note to say I've started my map, though nothing to share yet as I want to get the layout finished, or close to finished, before I start texturing and thing placement.

@scientifikgenius Looking good! I love the weird wood panels and concrete of Doom 2's future Earth.

FYI I'm claiming MAP23 and am doing my best to channel the spirit of Sandy Petersen.

thank you for the feedback! also good luck on map23, i hope it'll be good

A beta of my map so far (finished at around 40 percent, red and blue door aren't made, plus the difficulties and multiplayer aren't implemented yet) https://www.mediafire.com/file/gta8oi7hgti19xr/MAP08.wad/file

Please, tell me if you find any bugs or rule break.

pretty good, very reminiscent of tricks and traps. good job, dude

No screenshots yet, but my map's looking pretty juicy.
(Tom Hall-like lighting, which fits since DOOM II MAP10 is partially a Tom Hall map.)

About 1/4 of the way done with his map, working title Uptown

This is the opening area. Haven't made it look pretty yet.
