Alexagon Posted February 2, 2023 I saw a thread from a Google search the other day about mapping tips and someone mentioned you can rotate floor/ceiling textures. I can't for the life of me find that thread nor any info about if this is possible, figured I'd ask the question myself. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Veddge Posted February 2, 2023 I think this can only be done if you use the UDMF map format (ATM machine, I know!). I started playing with this feature and got a little carried away... 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted February 2, 2023 Can't say about UDMF (I never used it, but I heard it can) but with Doom and Boom, you can't do it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Not from the map; the method of doing it in vanilla is to simply create a rotated version of the flat as a resource. 6 hours ago, Veddge said: I think this can only be done if you use the UDMF map format (ATM machine, I know!). Likewise, Eternity has it too for vanilla (via extradata) and UDMF. Another port implementing UDMF may not have rotation. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Professor Hastig Posted February 2, 2023 DSDA was in the process of adding this stuff last time I checked. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Naarok0fkor Posted February 2, 2023 UDMF allows to easily change the orientation of flats & things although changing a thing's Z-axis orientation doesn't work well. I keep complaining to have the same quality for walls. I have to say that actual rotating flats, textures & things would make editing really nasty...To bypass this, we have to make animated textures. Like someone said above, to have rotated walls requires a new texture slot with the rotated graphic... 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
