@iddq_tea They haven't gotten back to me yet sadly, they said they would send me an email telling me when I can try again. Wouldn't mind having one generated.

 

P.S. would you mind making a discord? easier to communicate with other members of the project

I think I know the answers, but just to clarify:

 

1) Level-of-Detail: we are trying to (roughly) emulate the original IWAD, correct?

 

2) To the point that it is mentioned, texturing should be governed by the AI overlord -- however, if It is unclear, should we default to the texturing scheme of the original level?

 

3) Ditto for level-of-difficulty...?

1) It's roughly the same level of detail as the commercial Dooms, including Final Doom. But since the aim is limit-removing, you can afford to add a little bit more detailing here and there, as long as it preserves the classic Doom feel. This is good for large open maps, like city maps.

2) I'm actually working on a surprise in that field :) But as for overall texturing, stick to vanilla. ONETAPPYBOI and I decided that texture packs like D1forD2 should be allowed, as well as graphics made from patches in the original IWADS, graphics that derive from original textures, etc. I'll update the main thread to include this info.

3) This is going to vary greatly based on the AI's descriptions but it shouldn't surpass Final Doom in terms of difficulty.

 

The finished PWAD will be playtested thoroughly before it's made public so there will be time to touch up the difficulty settings and texturing later on, don't worry about it too much :)

@Lorcav Re-generating is totally fine if things like these happen, lol, I think this is out third IoS description so far. It would be hilarious though.

i suggest you add another icon of sin. there's going to be one in map24, so why not in 32?

Completely forgot to respond to the Discord part of your message! I thought about it but it didn't seem necessary, however, if there's enough interest, I can make one, sure.
