mouldy's map 30 for Nova 2. Best looked at while listening to the asscoiated track Clownhorse Apocalypse. On a related note, mouldy's Doom music is a contender for best opening seconds in wad soundtracks.

HИИ "COЮ3" by @MyNameIs. It's very difficult to find releases by this author as they don't upload to English sites often, but from what I've seen they've got a great imagination.

This thread has me thinking about maps like MAP07: Dead Simple or MAP29: The Living End, whose opening shots are set up to delay the actual big reveal and used for dramatic effect.
