(PILOT) | The Intermission Zone

Hey all!

Me and fellow community members @LadyMistDragon, @finnks13, and @Christophine Place wanted to try our hands at YouTube, and we have a pilot for a potential Doom-themed variety show. The first episode is VERY rough, as we are getting a feel for the whole thing. Constructive criticism and editing tips are much appreciated.

We had a lot of fun doing this, so I hope y'all enjoy!

Rough ain't the word. my friend! We need to put a muzzle on finnks when he goes over 5 minutes! D:)

Also I wanted to call it Interdiction Zonr after the Jim Flynn map but see, only Christophine and I actually like his maps at all :P

That's exactly what this is about- to provide discourse. We may have put some pretty famous wads a little low on the list but it's just the opinion of four people in a sea of hundreds, haha.

The audio is begging to be Normalized and Compressed.

Otherwise, it's pretty good!

I might suggest trying to market this more as a Podcast, since there isn't exactly much going on visually.  That way, you can worry more about the audio content instead of mucking with too much video editing.  Additionally, you could release it on more platforms, like Spotify, where there might be more of a demand for purely conversation-driven content.

Anyways, I'll keep my eyes peeled for more of this!  Good chemistry and good attitudes between you all.  Would love to pop it up on my handheld and listen to this on the go with headphones, which YouTube won't allow.

Well, the current plan is go through a megawad, a la DW Megawad Club or MtPain27 and try to hit each map in said wad so visual footage will naturally be provided for those sections. But I do think putting any non-visual episodes on Spoitfy wouldn't be a bad idea: it's actually not that difficult to do iirc the time I checked it out.

Heck yes!  Do I smell two awesome series'?

Spotify is thankfully ridiculously easy to configure.  The only hard part is getting the initial RSS feed working.  I went lazy and used some built-in features on a popular blogging service.  Posting new stuff to the feed was as easy as writing a new blog post and setting the category!

I seem to eat, drink, sleep, and breathe DOOM lately.  Maybe this awesome and impressively productive community has something to do with that?

Anyways, don't mind me!  Release it and I will consume!

Audio mixing will be much better on the next episode, I promise. The pilot's purpose is to measure interest and iron out kinks. Thanks for the feedback!
