DoomGuy2077 Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) The system that determines which monsters are allowed to attack and when is based on how many tokens are available during combat. A monster cannot perform an atttack without a token and will always wait for another montser to finish and release their token. Lower difficulties have fewer tokens, higher difficulties have more tokens. Once in a while this seems to break down and all monsters persue and attack the player. Does anyone know if there's a predictable pattern that causes it? Are there any possible fixes? Edited February 26, 2023 by DoomGuy2077 clairity 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
GuyMcBrofist Posted February 26, 2023 No idea. Is that how it really works? Maybe all the monsters attacking once in a while is an intentional part of the gameplay? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoomGuy2077 Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) It's definitely not the intended behavior. Id Software devs have spoken about the token system at developers conferences. You can use mods to increase the amount of tokens available to monsters and they sometimes behave like the "infinite tokens" mod is installed. Velser Posted February 26, 2023 I've never had this issue happen to me outside of mods. But I know that some encounter managers will swap tokens for certain AI, particularly the Archvile so it is forced to summon other demons. Maybe there is something related to that which temporarily breaks token management altogether? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
