First published WAD

Hi, I've been lurking and making maps on and off, but never really got around to publish anything, so I decided to make this small map01 and try and get over "stage fright"
Also I can't really think of a name for it.

Info:
 - 47 monsters, 3 secrets, 28 items
 - Difficulties not implemented yet, designed for singleplayer
 - Requires Freedoom (freedoom2.wad) as the IWAD,
 - Architecture roughly inspired by Quake 2,
 - Finished in about 3 days,
 - Designed with Boom in mind, won't work in vanilla,
 - Tested on Woof 10.5.1, PrBoom+ 2.5.1.4 and GzDoom g4.8.1,
 - Made with Ultimate Doom Builder

This is really good for a first published map.

 

Detail level was pretty good for being done in three days.

 

Balance on UV was good as well. I never ran too low on health and ammo but neither was I swimming in it. Pacing was right in the Goldilocks zone where I like it - not too slow, not too fast.

 

Good use of vertical space.

 

I like the optional yellow key. This is something I wish more maps did. When I get to the exit linedef and realize I never did open the yellow door, or whatever color key, it makes me have to go back and get 100%. Bonus OCD points if you can 100% a level and whatever is behind the door has no monsters, items or secrets (ammo+health?).

This was a fun little map! Not too hard, not too big, fairly generous with ammo. Only read about the Quake 2 influence just now, but I did think of Quake 2 while playing! Favourite part was the exit room. I'm a sucker for nice outdoor views and this was nicely done.
