Arwel Posted May 12, 2023 Brilliant! I often get bored towards the end of huge maps, but I enjoyed every second of this. Favourite fight: the one at blue keycard. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

bjh13 Posted November 25, 2023 I don't know how I stumbled onto this wad, but I have been having a blast. I love the look and the gameplay and have spent way too much time trying to beat it now. This makes me want to fire up UDB myself, can't wait to play more of your maps once I finish this set. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
YoshiTheMage Posted December 8, 2023 This WAD is absolute dynamite. Thoroughly enjoyed the 70 minutes I spent with this on UV, enough that I got 100% kills and secrets. Despite being advertised as a slaughtermap I didn't find it especially tough or crowded. Challenging absolutely but not as much as I'd expect from that label. Map's paced really well, not much downtime between the big fights, the secrets don't waste your time and the way the space is efficiently used and that it wraps around back on itself making it hard to get lost is all just pure quality. The only fight that really chewed me up was the Hell Knight corridor with the elevated Revenants for the blue card but that's because I did that fight poorly and found myself having to salvage a very bad mid-fight save with no backup to try again from. Long story short I grabbed the card too early and then saved thinking I was through the worst of it but the Archviles and Pain Elementals had other ideas. I appreciate the Cyberdemon two-shotting practice in the epilogue map as well. Do I need to tell you that Jaded looks amazing as well? I feel like you already know it's a fantastic looking WAD. Bonus points for being green because that's my favourite colour but this would've worked in anything. Makes me wonder whether the name came first or if you named it Jaded after the fact. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
|Raph| Posted December 19, 2023 I just went through this WAD between yesterday and today. Really great levels. The design, the fights, the balance, everything is on point. I just wish it had a few more maps but it's only because I enjoyed playing it a lot. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
bioshockfan90 Posted December 28, 2023 Fun map you made here, I played on HNTR as someone that doesn't really play slaughter and found it easy to digest, although I do wish the 'in-between' combat in the map was a bit harder. On me partially I suppose, but if the slaughter could be enough of a challenge then I guess so could the incidental stuff but at the end of the day it's just minor nitpicking. Took me probably 40 minutes, I spent about 10 of those navigating for the last key which was in a spot that just wasn't that obvious but that's the nature of the game. In terms of aesthetic, it's gorgeous. GZDoom throttled a bit at the beginning and maybe 1 other point but thankfully I have a beefy enough PC to where 99% of the map ran just fine. MIDI is great, very atmospheric. My favorite combat set-piece was probably the giant rocket hallway with opposition on both sides in a cramped area. The way it expands after you think you're through almost got me and made me die. Speaking of, I placed plenty of saves but ended up not needing any of them (except for in the final map, I suck at platforming :p). Yeah, good stuff. Can see why it got mentionated at this year's awards. A late thank you for making this, and it actually got me out of my comfort zone a bit and I think I'm more willing to get into slaughter now! Capybara has my eye in particular. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
97th Century Fox Posted February 10 I finally beat this masterpiece! I've played it on HMP but it won't be long before I check UV out as well. This wad has stolen my heart, and tought me how to two shot cyberdemons too! Thank you for making this! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
