Technicolor Posted March 7, 2023 I dont mean wads like Ashes 2063. I mean actual Doom with jumping and crouching or at least jumping? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted March 7, 2023 Doom: The Golden Souls (1 and 2) Skulldash Various maps in RAMP and RAMP 2022 (jumping is automatically enabled/disabled per map) This is what I can remember off the top of my head. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bauul Posted March 7, 2023 Many wads for advanced sourceports are designed with jumping and crouching in mind. I don't know if there's a definitive list anywhere, but as a starting point the Doomwiki has a pretty exhaustive list of GZDoom wads. At the very least I can tell you that Elementalism was designed with jumping and crouching. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Biz! Posted March 7, 2023 There is jumpwad, compatible with most source ports thanks to some fun dehacked patches. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Noiser Posted March 7, 2023 Adventures of Square and The Golden Souls are two very fun TCs with jumping in mind 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

I would like more vanilla looking than Golden Souls Edited March 7, 2023 by Technicolor 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maribo Posted March 8, 2023 Nightwing uses entirely vanilla actions, textures, etc. and is designed around jumping, as far as I could tell. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Insaneprophet Posted March 8, 2023 I know a wad named "Warpzone" requires a lot of jumping and is just a standard long doom map otherwise. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
NoOne Posted March 8, 2023 I made a stack of maps in the early noughties that required jumping [ammo on crates etc] I tried playing them back with a mind to release them, but the jump in gzdoom only seems half the height it was when I made the maps. I've just written them off as a bad job as they need to much rework, and I never used to bother aligning all my textures back then. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
AbeAwesome Posted March 8, 2023 I've encountered plenty that are; usually they'll mention it in the readme file, especially stuff released in the last decade or so. When I play a ZDoom wad/pk3 that's under a decade old, and it doesn't have the MAPINFO no crouch/jump flag set, I just assume that jumping is intended or at least allowed. But really, the best approach is to just pretend all wads (including the commercial iwads) are designed with jumping/crouching in mind, and sequence break the crap out of them! :P 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

You don't actually jump (as in, using the built-in jump action) in Jumpwad. It uses a different mechanism that replaces your attack action. I think using a port's built-in jumping mechanism in Jumpwad would technically be cheating as it would allow you to chain a normal jump with a Jumpwad jump in quick succession while Jumpwad jumps have a cooldown. Not sure if there are maps where you could skip progression this way, but that may be the case. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
