E4M4 tribute done:

 

uses tags 340, 341, 342 for lift, closets and teleport

 

has all 4 exits, placed key in what used to be the bfg area

 

I'm using nukage instead of lava because I then get to use some brown nukage edge textures

Well I suddenly turned ill yesterday evening but I've still managed to work on it. It's unfinished, of course, especially the texturing:

It's a mini E1M4! I had no idea what to do with the swastika room so I draw a crude smiley instead :)

There's only three entrances but I could probably shuffle around the northern bit to add one there if needed.

Can you move the lines so they don't lie on bounding box either? It wouldn't be hard to adress but it's probably better if you do that to fully comply with your vision? The idea is that only doors would touch each other, and while if you are alone was to do it wouldn't be the problem, it would not be fair for others.

My bad, I think I missed it. I'm accepting your map too.

 

PS Some submissions come in the slot that matches the prototype map, it's not a big deal but it's more convenient to me if it's in E1M1 so I could idclev to the original map to refresh and compare in the same session.

No, you are pushing the walls outwards. I wanted you to shrink the room.

The point is that no matter what there won't be inadvisable connection between the two segments, because lines on the edges are only the deliberate connection points in the middle.

Accepted. I was always bad with the secrets in Doom, was platform raising to soul sphere with no way to call it down like that originally?

A little milestone, we have now 16 complete submissions which would be enough for a solid 4x4 square. 6x6 would be cooler though.

The claims seem to have winded down, meaning I'll probably open the option for second square claims.

As before, I gave the player all weapons except the BFG at the start, but it can be beat with just a shotgun and chaingun. Some of the entrances give you a bit of a hot start, but it's all beatable without power weapons. You can put it wherever you see fit and it'll play fine.

I just noticed your submission is off the grid and this is the problem for teleport flats. Not sure how I missed that. This needs to be fixed somehow.

 

On the other hand E2M7 looks fine, I'm accepting this one.

I figure I'll bite the bullet and take E3M2 for myself. It'll probably be a pain to draw.

 

And while I'm not penalizing suddenly dropping in with a map, you should probably still announce you'll take it so we don't end up with overlaps.

@ViolentBeetle, any chance you'd let me whip up some GATE flats that are offset a bit? I know you're trying to avoid custom textures, but it's gonna be a pain reworking the map to tile correctly. I could replace the GATE flats with TLITE if you need me to; just don't know that it'll capture the spirit of the original the same way.

Ok, I guess. Only because I didn't notice it earlier. And everyone else can borrow them too if needed.

I guess it won't screw with the project too much and it's kinda annoying to have to align portal. Same with marbface on the floor, if you really need, you can edit alignment, though it would be cooler if you didn't need them.
