Water Opacity Issue

Mad Dal 85

Question

I'm making my first map for my mod in UDMF format on UDB. I used line action 9 (Line Horizon) to make the ocean look endless in the horizon (obviously) but how can i adjust the opacity of the water surface? I used line action 209 (Transfer Heights) to make the water by the way.

yeah, i tried with 3D swimmable platforms, but i got this instead on the line horizon. i know i am able to adjust the opacity of 3D platforms, but the line horizon doesn't seem to work with it for me

A 3Dfloor cannot have line horizon attached to it. Line horizon can only affect a floor and ceiling, so if you have anything that is also walls (i.e a 3dfloor) then they contradict.

There's no logical way to make a horizon transparent either, it was never designed to have depth so it's just a singular plane.

Yeah - just discovered what Edward850 described above. I looked again at my Island Fortress - I DIDN'T use line_horizon, just a REALLY BIG sea. I think that if the swimmable 3D floor that is translucent is over a bit enough circular area, with blocker lines so the player can't reach the edge, the illusion should be good enough I think. IIRC, I played about with various translucencies and flats for the sea.
