All forms of doom builder not loading resources after extracting a wad from a pk3?

Question

Specifically, the joy of mapping 4... as it won't open a pk3, I extract the map wad file from it and use the pk3 as a resource.  But the resources don't load for walkthrough mode.  If I specify doom 2 iwad for resources, some load, but all the wrong ones of course.  I'd also like to know how to identify what function a switch does, e.g show which door it opens in an editor?  I tried to in deepsea and I couldn't find any way of doing this.

The Joy of Mapping 4 pwad can be opened with DB2 or DBX, but to gain the fullest experience with constructing  maps I would recommend UDB.

 

However, to open a map for Joy of Mapping 4, first you have to  unzip  joymaps4.pk3 to extract the maps, then load, for example, e1m1.wad and add joymaps4.pk3 as a resource.

That is not surprising since joymaps4.pk3 is made for Doom or Ultimate Doom format.

In UDB or GZDB_BF (if you cannot use UDB) you can select an Action specials to highlight the eventline to show the affected sector\s.

That is not surprising since Deepsea does not support the UDMF mapping format.

Thanks, is there any way to set these as defaults so I don't have to select them Every.  Single.  Time I open a wad map that's came from the same pk3 mapset?
