Steam Spring Sale 2023

Recommended Posts

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is free until March 23rd.

The Borderlands 2 RPG-themed DLC is a standalone game, so you don't need the base game. I don't know if it has the same issues as Borderlands 2 forcing you to switch up gear every other level while having limited inventory space. That and having "badass" repeated into meaninglessness.

This is great, thanks!

I bought Return to Castle Wolfenstein for about £1.50 which I'm looking forward to playing again. I played it a lot as a child but the last time must have been, over 10 years ago now...

I don't know if it's considered a good game but I certainly loved playing it when I was younger.

Sonic Frontiers is still 59,99€.

How.

I know how you feel. Some of the items I have on my wishlist (Pizza Tower, for instance) are not part of the sale. Bummer! :-(

I'll wait until the Summer Sale/Winter Sale, you get better deals. ( EX : Doom Eternal for $20 instead of the Spring Sale $27 )

I think all I'm gonna get is the anniversary pack for Skyrim. I was interested in that when it came out, waited, and it seems like $10 is the absolute lowest it will ever go on any platform.

Dead Cells and Hades, maybe? I was gonna also get Shovel Knight Treasure Trove but it's still not on sale and at this point I doubt it ever will be.

I've already bought the Apogee Classics Collection, but I'm planning to buy Jazzpunk: Directors Cut and maybe SiN Episodes: Emergence. Most of the "bigger" games on sale I already have on console, and I don't want to spend a ton of money on games I won't play that much.

I've slowly been learning that I should stop compulsively buying games when I know I'm playing stuff currently, and have games I want to play at some point.

I learnt this way too late, learn from me.

Oh, don't worry.  It's a good game.

Check-out the RealRTCW mod, available on Steam.  Enhances the arsenal and graphics whilst attempting to stay within the classic feel.  There's even dogs, too!

As for the OP:

I went ahead and bought $60 worth of "boomer shooters" (I call them arcade shooters) that have been on my wishlist for a while:

  • ULTRAKILL
  • DUSK
  • INCISION
  • POSTAL Brain Damaged
  • Impaler
  • Project Warlock I & II
  • AMID EVIL
  • ARMORED HEAD

Barely cracked them open yet, but each was certainly worth the ~$6.66 so far.

And that, folks, is why you should consider spending your money wisely.

Before hitting that Purchase button, you should be asking yourself, "Is it worth the money AND my time?"

It also helps to ask yourself: "Do i have something similiar to play right now?".
You don't have to buy Final Fantasy VI if you have Octopath Traveler untouched.

In my defence... they were good deals. And I will play them EVENTUALLY. But yes you're both completely right.

Project Warlock I

Mmmm I still need to get around to beating this. It's such a good game but I only got up to I think the city levels before I put it down and ended up not coming back.

Search RealRTCW on Steam, its free if you own Return to Castle Wolfenstein and its great. Its also a separate entry on your games list so you can still play classic if you want.

I was going to mention this, but RealRTCW is definitely worth checking out.

I'm kind of amazed people are actually interested in the Dragon Keep DLC-as-a-game, the sheer amount of hate it got, and still gets, made it seem like an unforgivable crime against humanity. I bought it for something like 7 dollars ages ago and enjoyed it as-is, a smaller take on BL2 with unique levelling and progression compared to the DLC version. It really is a fun little diversion even if you've played the 'full' game to death, as the DLC starts you at level 1, most players started the DLC at level 50 or even higher.

As for the sale, I blew my monetary load on Trails to Azure already, so probably wont get anything. Maybe get Trails of Cold Steel III discounted for the eventual time when I beat the other games, but honestly, I am still a few games behind. By the time im done, another sale would have popped up.

If anything, Death Trash. Beautiful pixel art survival RPG.

And Atomic Heart, if it is on sale. As a new release, probably not tho.

Had a good look through now, nothing really appeals over the games already in my pile of shame. Going to save my cash for the Megaman Battle Network collection next month, I'll probably get that on Switch though, pixel graphics always look nicer on that.

Really other than that, Baldurs Gate 3 and Assassins Creed Mirage are the only games out this year I'm interested in unless Rogue Trader drops sooner than expected.

I'm still picking up the odd classic on GOG but otherwise trying to stop impulse buying every half decent game that goes on a good sale.

Holding out until I get a new GPU in May :/

Yeah, the current situation isn't really that good. Even after the cryptocurrency crash, NVIDIA decided to act greedy and price-gouge the RTX 4xx0 series FOR NO GODDAMN reason.

Right now, I can just see Jensen Huang sitting in a fancy office as Mr. Monopoly (Rich Uncle Pennybags) waving a wad of Benjamins with dollar signs for eyes.

AMD isn't even better; their flagship, the RX 7900 XTX, is slower than the NVIDIA RTX 4090, is just as expensive, and the reference card is plagued by a faulty vapor chamber cooler.

I'm not sure what your intention is or what card you're planning to get, but hopefully, once May comes, the prices will become more reasonable and there might be a card that will suit your needs.

Not Steam, but on GOG Sale.

I bought Giants Citizen Kabuto, Outcast 1.1 and Outcast Second Contact. Have been wanting to play Giants for a while, have heard many good things about it.

I was uncertain which of the two Outcast versions to play, as I prefer to use a gamepad when possible. I may give the remake a try first, as i heard it had some QOL features, if it does not run very smooth may try the original.
