convert 1:1.2 to square pixels for DOOM 64 sprites

Map units are the same in Doom64, however the rendering is no longer stretched vertically to 1:1.2, rather pixels are now square again. You'll need to design any sprites around square pixels.

Though frankly everything in that screenshot looks distorted. I can only speak for actual Doom64, the port you're using seems to be stretching things inconsistently (the HUD doesn't even look close to correct).

The aspect ratio/resolution is not your issue (DOOM 64 CE and it's PSX/Final counterpart are meant to be played in hi-res widescreen anyway, it's an unofficial remaster after all), and the HUD still looks awful. I have no idea what you're doing to make that happen.
