Thank you for the words! The wad does start pretty easy, but there's a bit of a difficulty spike at map03. I dunno what difficulty you're playing on, but I made sure HMP is a lot more manageable than UV. Have fun :)

... do I need some kind of diagonal jump technique to get the blue key, or should I stop being dumb and go look for clues on how to interact with those crates instead? I got the blue sphere apparently...

Yep, you need to jump over to the crates with a fast straferun jump.
