Shepardus Posted April 8, 2023 I hope ignoring the previous two movies means that they've decided to adopt Going Down as the canon Doom universe. 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

As divisive as Doom Eternal was, it seemed to have been a considerable success nonetheless. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

The idea of adapting the events of the book into some kind of meta-narrative documentary series or just a straight film of sorts similar to Pirates of Silicon Valley or The Social Network could be interesting. As for this possible new Doom series, I hope for the sake of the show's writers that the plan is to explore the lore established in the nuDoom games; which would be the better option since it gives the writers a foundation to work from, rather than the paper-thin narrative of Classic Doom. There was a TV biopic on the GTA series that I think was based on the book about its creation also by David Kushner. Masters Of Doom has hope yet. I’d personally like to see it happen. As for a TV show of Doom the “Nu-Doom” has more meat on the bone as far as story goes BUT…… we now live in a world where there are some seriously over sensitive folks who get offended by …..well……pretty much everything. 2016 and Eternal have have very religious tones that raise questions and challenge what we have come to “believe” in regards to Heaven/Hell/God/Satan/Good/bad etc…. The backlash could be an epic tale in on itself. Anyone ever see the film ‘Dogma’? A great comedy with Jay and Silent Bob. That caused a ruckus back in the late 90’s (a time where people could laugh at stuff and leave it at that) for it’s twist on and poking fun at christianity. Doom Eternals story especially put into a medium that is easy for everyones consumption…could make heads explode. Edited April 8, 2023 by Eurisko 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Christianity is the official approved punching bag religion for Hollywood/other big studios. Edited April 9, 2023 by dasho 4 Quote Share this post Link to post

It's their final breath. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Or it's a sign of how off-kilter things are getting. Seriously though, if you consider that freaking out you should look up the Charlie Hebdo incident.
