XWE problem

Every time I open up XWE, it always looks like thisHELPQ.png.08469ed67a72467dd39a7cb7ed70c59b.png

 

when it should look like this-- with the Quickfind thing and the lists!

I can't even add new lumps or textures or sprites or anything!  What'll I do??????????

XWE is extremely unsupported nowadays. It's long since stopped being developed, has numerous corruption issues and doesn't support much of current port specifications, and even gets a lot of older specs wrong.

 

You will get better/any support with Slade3. https://slade.mancubus.net/

I cannot, I haven't used XWE for about 15 years. People can help you use Slade3 however, what do you need help with in that?

It obviously misses the entire file tablature.

It is unsupported.

 

Try pressing F11, should bring you up the menu bar. Restarting atleast brings me back the Quickfind (I specifically just tested this because i hardly can believe this is an actual issue).

XWE is ancient at this point and it's very prone to bugging out and causing you to lose your entire wad. Slade is not radically different from XWE, and it's consistently updated, so it's definitely worth learning!
