Enigmatic Worlds (Commercial) - [Demo on itch.io and Steam!]

Lil something I've been working on for a bit, it was on hold for a while and was about to be cancelled but I recently had a bunch of ideas that made me bring this back from the dead, it's my first go at a full-fledged commercial game! I basically got everything, except music, covered.

This is a GZDoom game partially inspired by Game Maker games from long ago that got me into Doom in the first place, such as the DOOMClone series. Fulla strange worlds populated by enemies, and not simple monsters either; each type possess many unique traits, abilities, and behaviors.

Speaking of, are you currently looking for a musician? This sort of project screams "amiga modules" to me, and I make those.

Funny thing is, this actually did start out yeeeeears ago after being inspired by an amiga game I came across, loved the music in this (well, not the menu song, but the level songs), which I'm actually using as placeholder tracks in this game, haha. So heck, I did something right if it reminds you of amiga stuff.

 

As for the offer, that'd be awesome, I'm waiting until I have something more playable before I focus on the music part so there's a clearer idea of what I'm going for, so I'll let you know when I got something ready. (:

Love it when a GZDoom custom game pays tribute to some old weird stuff like this. I remember playing Exploding Lips Mayhem Mansion from you back then and will make sure to try this one of these days.

Hmm, bit of a snag with the Steam demo release.

 

 

I am pretty confused NGL. LZDoom runs fine for me, LZDoom is used for my friends game which is on Steam, Launch options are fine, I even gave a beta key to another account and it launched fine there too. Gonna see what I can do.

 

Edit: I also realized during figuring this out, this demo is impossible to beat on easy. Whoops, that's been fixed.

i dont like getting locked out of certain gzdoom qol features but other than that im totally gonna buy this one on itchio when it comes out if the full game just as good!
