Girzedda Posted April 24, 2023 crispy doom is so awesome, i love how cool it is. it's like all the joy of playing classic motherfuckin DOOM, with little extra benefits that feel like they should've been in official re releases. enemy blood fixes, uncapped framerate, its all so cool! i absolutely love this source port. Whenever a WAD works with Crispy Doom, you bet i'm playing it with Crispy Doom. Crispy Doom is just so awesome. I may be a christian. but if heaven doesn't have crispy doom, i'm staying alive as long as i can just to play it. i believe hell is just playing GZDoom, but with the defaults on. i would FRAG MYSELF, IN HELL, if i had to endure that. i love how you can also scale the game with all its low-res glory, but still have it in widescreen! that's just so awesome! fuck VECTORS and POLYGONS, i want to see my pixels in WIDESCREEN. this has been a post from SWAGMASTER27, appreciator of CRISPY DOOM SOURCE PORT. (attached below is my crispy doom swag) 12 Quote Share this post Link to post

PsychEyeball Posted April 25, 2023 I registered my account here initially to ask a question about Crispy Doom so it's partly thanks to it I'm here. Lately I used it to replay the Master Levels using @Peter's MIDI pack! 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

PKr Posted April 26, 2023 7 hours ago, Tycitron said: Wait, the master levels AND the midi pack work in Crispy Doom??? how did you get that to work?? You can merge all master levels wads into one masterlevels.wad and then simply use a midi pack with it. Nothing else needs to be done. The problem is I forgot where I found the patch (delta patch? or was it a separate tool? I can't remember...) that merged them into one file. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Check the before last post of this thread. This is the tool that will allow you to merge all of your Master Levels WADs into one. Then launch Crispy Doom with both MASTERLEVELS.WAD and the MIDI pack. Supposedly Crispy Doom can detect if MASTERLEVELS.WAD is loaded or not, in which case Crispy will correctly make sure that Tag 666 triggers for the levels which need it without needing to be placed in the MAP07 slot (ie. Mephisto's Maosoleum). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Roofi Posted April 26, 2023 I mostly use Crispy Doom for limit-removing wads nowadays but it's my favourite port thanks to its simplicity and ergonomy. However, I prefer to launch vanilla wads directly on DOSBOX in order to have a crispier experience and to fulfill my purist urges. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
SoDOOManiac Posted May 9, 2023 One day (I think it was in 2015) I discovered Chocolate Doom and wanted to play something with DEHACKED string length that Choco won't allow, somebody showed me Crispy Doom, and I fell in love with it. It got me into coding, I eventually started a fork of Crispy Doom called So Doom (so customizable, so polished fork of Crispy Doom). 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
