@Obsidian

Alright I've merged all the trimmed down MEDB data into my wip submission. I went ahead and merged in the projects default dehacked info to make the final merge easier (just paste over the dehacked lump). Final new roster (unless there are any last minute requests):

- Rifle Zombieman (aka Zombie Marine, aka lore friendly SS Nazi clone)

- Nightmare Imp (AI accurate reference to DOOM 64)

- Wargrin (low tier with a primitive plasma gun)

- Watcher (mini cacodemon)

- DOOM 64 style Arachnotron (Arachnotron with slightly weaker dual cannons that has occasion pauses in her attack)

- Harkubus (Mancubus on steroids)

- Grell (flying alien with triple spread shot projecile)

- Tech wall lamps (just a decoration that serves as sort of a sci-fi wall torch)

Also PS1 style Nightmare Spectres are built into Eternity Engine, so while I cut my version they the Eternity version appears in my map.

My map is for the most part complete. Going to playtest and add last minute details. Will release very early Wendsday morning, American midwest time:

Well I think my stage is ready to go. Unless I come up with any ideas to tweak it while I'm at work tomorrow. So here it is:

OutsideTheBox_Mayhem23.zip

I named it Outside the Box due to it beginning with a crate filled area and breaking so many of vanilla DOOM's rules via the UDMF format. The music can be replaced if you wish. Its just what I settled on.

It does not require MEDB to run. The trimmed down MEDB content (plus the Grells by Obsidian's request) are built into the wad. It is Eternity UDMF format only though, requiring one of the development builds (version 6.3 and beyond).

Okay, here's my submission.  I didn't have much mapping time this month so it's basically a glorified speedmap.  It's a sort of run and gun/slaughter-lite thing that is probably more chaotic than difficult.

If you want to max, you don't need to clean up the perched imps--they should all get teleported into the final fight eventually, I promise!

Map Title: Dark Avenues

Author: NeedHealth
Format: Boom (-complevel 9)
Tested: PrBoom+
Difficulties Implemented: Yes
Co-op Starts: Only four players, no deathmatch or multiplayer monsters/extra ammo
Music: Kaguya.mid by ad_79

additional notes: I wasn't even remotely certain I could tell anyone I would have time to do a map and then do it. Took me around four days, playtime is about 8 minutes. Don't include this in the blurb! :-P

Alright, my maps are in a semi-playable state! I will fully admit that they aren't fully tested and still need their difficulty settings, but I've been pretty rushed off my feet as of late (full-time study does that to you) and if I didn't get these out now I'd probably miss the deadline. Anyway, maps!

etrn31.png

Map name: Seized with a Violent Joy

Format: Eternity (Doom in UDMF Format)

Build time: Most of the month

Music: The MAP07 music from Jungle Spirits (dunno the actual name, alas ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Big ol' bastard of a map, lots of moving parts. Was pretty fun to let loose with Eternity's various tools.

etrn32.png

Map name: All Turned Around

Format: Eternity (Doom in UDMF Format)

Build time: The rest of the month

Music: "CARMID03.MID" from Carmageddon

Started this one on the weekend while mapping with friends, wanted to make a submission that used some of @MObreck's custom content. At current though I think it needs some tweaking for Eternity, the custom monster I ended up using didn't actually, well...shoot anything. I should be able to properly balance the map once the Grells are fixed.

Oh yes, and before I forget: submissions close in a little over 24 hours. Time is of the essence!

Alas, I was unable to make anything coherent out of the bits and pieces I made over the past month, so I shan't be submitting. Regardless, I look forward to playing all these interesting-looking maps when the set is compiled :)

Hmmm, just tested the Grells on my end, they seem to be working fine:

Are you using at least version 4.03 pre-844 of Eternity? That sounds like an earlier build that didn't have MBF21 support yet (since the Grell's attack is the only one of its code pointer that is MBF21 exclusive).

4.02, good catch. I'll update my version. 👍

Added some last minute tweaks. @Obsidian only the level has been altered so if you've already merged the other assets you don't need to merge them again.

Well this gives me an excuse to list the proper credits:

Name:  Outside the Box
Author:  MObreck
Format:  UDMF Eternity (requires one of the 4.03 development builds or newer).
Tested On:  Eternity version 4.03.00-pre-844
Skill Levels:  Implemented
Co-op:  Yes, for up to four players.
Midi: Battle Toads & Double Dragon SNES stage 4 midi remix by Robert Hansson (Can be replaced if desired)

New Textures: llexandro and 3DRealms (Duke Nukem). All modified by MObreck. Contains one new animated texture.

New Monsters: Yes, several ported from my MEDB asset bundle. Mostly new low tiers.

Apologies for not pulling through. In my infinite wisdom I thought I could learn how to map with eternity, then make a good map while juggling end of spring semester. Completely my fault :/

Hey, don't sweat it too much: I know all too well how life gets in the way sometimes and the fact that you gave it an earnest shot is something I appreciate regardless. :)

Well that was fun. A great learning experience on how to set up UDMF portals for sure. I'll have to keep on eye out for other eternity UDMF community projects.

And I'm grateful to have the chance to showcase a few of the MEDB roster. Feel free to include them in any future mbf21 supporting community project.

For now I'm starting work on a passion project level. A TC to show off my knowledge of ZScript, GZDoom's shader system, and some of my 3D mocapped monster sprites. I hope to have it done sometime in July.

@Obsidian How many maps were submitted? Just so I know whether to remove my secret exit. Thanks.

We had a grand total of nineteen submissions! Map order is yet to be finalized, but I am very likely going to be utilizing the secret slots on account of some of the more brutal and/or experimental submissions. Might even screw around with the format and have more than two secret maps: I can do that now! :D

About map order, is this mapset going to be Only for eternity or the eternity maps are going to be divided on their own episode?

i ask out of curiosity

The mapset will be exclusively for the Eternity Engine.

Oh okay, my map is Boom anyway. But if you want to convert it to UDMF, go ahead.

I thought you had a choice between Boom and Eternity.
