I got an unfinished map I did from 2017/18 (One of the first attempts at mapping I ever made) and I finished it and gave it a major overhaul and now it's done! It is a surreal, changing cave, (hence all the texture differences) Name: Cavern of Duality (DualCave.wad) Map Format: Doom: Doom 2 (Doom format) Ports Tested: GZDoom IWAD: Plutonia Map(s): MAP01 Music: freemidi.org for the midi. The midi is Descent by Fear Factory. https://onlinesequencer.net/3422024# for the intermission midi Gameplay: Single play Difficulty Settings: Yes Multiplayer Placement: no Build Time: 2 weeks (to finish and overhaul the old version) Textures: A Few From Plutonia Requirements: Plutonia IWAD for waterfall textures. Final Version changes: Spoiler The green armor has been moved to the start of the level. There is even more ammo on all difficulty settings. The ending door had a problem where the back side couldn't be opened, but the front side could, so if you wanted to go back for ammo or secrets and the door shut on you, you were forced to press the exit switch. This was fixed. Updated combat! (The room in the 2nd screenshot is more chaotic now) The red key is a bit more useful now! Spoiler The red key is in one of the doors of the room where you found the berserk. LadyMistDragon Posted May 1, 2023 (edited) Nice map! Didn't exactly seem particularly Plutonian at first but ammo was TIGHT. And my various mishaps toward the end failed to help matters. Pretty nice though! One eztra note: I only ended with 89 percent kills because I iddt'd and found nothing alive. But that may have been a good thing! Degree23 Posted May 1, 2023 Ammo feels ridiculously tight. I ran out, and then ran into an Arch Vile, where I died. There definitely needs to be more ammo. Also, the Green Armor could do with being much earlier in the map. I found the secret MegaArmor before I found the Green Armor, which rendered it basically useless, and I was on low health for a lot of the map so some armour would have come in handy. Otherwise seems to play pretty well. Nothing majorly wrong, a few minor tweaks would probably improve it. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Clippy Posted March 20 Well I played it Map is technically sound but I got confused a few times haha . Had a hard time remembering how to get back to the exit after finding blue key It also seems some pivotal assets or weapons are hidden in Secrets or bizarre backtracking situations like needing red key to find the rocket launcher by the time I got there I was already done I assume the other secret I missed was probably another weapon I could have had but yeah if you're hiding weapons or making them hard to get then players could experience a boring lack of weapons Anywho hope this videos entertaining haha 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
