what does the G in GZdoom stand for

i used to think it meant GroundZero doom but it means Zdoom so idk is it named after the creator? 
Graf (Zahl) so is it GrafZahl/GrafZdoom pretty cool name if it was tbh i cant find much on the GZDoom wiki

Shitposting aside, I always thought that the name was intentionally meant to do double duty, it's both GL ZDoom and Graf Zahl Doom (and ZDoomGL was already taken by another project that died a long, long time ago).
