Freedoom/Blasphemer are definitely worth checking out

Recommended Posts

Soooo..... I have been a Doom player for many years, nay decades... and I've been aware of Freedoom for a while but had always been irrationally put off by - something, I know not what... Maybe I played a really old build many years ago - I don't know.

So, I made a conscious effort to play a bit of Phase 1 and Phase 2 recently and actually really liked what it has evolved into, and the same thing is true for Blasphemer.

So, this post is really just to encourage anyone who hasn't checked out Freedoom or Blasphemer to give them a whirl, it's well worth it.

Well, not to sound aggressive, but pretty much everyone in this forum has already did, it's the FreeDoom sector after all!

And yeah, the stuff the community has done for FD is really good, and it's available for free! (both financially and in freedom!)

Didn't really need to make a topic for this, but I appreciate your effort.

Glad to hear you mention Blasphemer. It is cool to me in that it feels like I'm getting to experience the earlier days of freedoom. Plenty of placeholders and such, but work continues on.

Now I gotta check and see how LibreQuake is going.

Last time I checked, the test release did not work in QDOS, unlike OpenQuartz.
