Pickles Posted May 7, 2023 I played through it on UV using Prboom+ with complevel 9. Short and sweet with some laid-back combat inbetween. The map is a bit abstract, but is otherwise serviceable with distinct areas to prevent getting lost. The only real problem I have is that the map is a lot taller than it probably should be. While there is vertical height, the vast majority is unused creating a look of suspiciously overtall hallways. I should probably take some points off for the doors, but I found them more amusing than anything on top of it only being your 2nd map. Overall: Good Job! You seem to be well on your way to making great maps. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
FireWarden1000 Posted June 12, 2023 I completed idk.wad with DOSBox, and DOOM2.EXE, basic DOOM2 map, 70/100. The map is playable in DOSBox with adjustments to the map with a DOOM map editor. My main complaint with the map was the low ammo count in the map, and to conserve ammo, the player will need to use the chainsaw. Actually you will need to use the chainsaw against half the enemies. Overall the map design is actually not bad, actually this map looks better than most new DOOM map developer maps that I have tested. My recommendations, align the textures to improve the graphics. Build smaller maps with more detail in the map, because this map was huge in size, but the map was overall empty buildings. Adjust the gameplay difficulty to include more ammo in the map if you add a large amount of enemies to a map. Overall, this is a reasonable designed DOOM2 map. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
