Ningen666 Posted May 8, 2023 Last year, around this time, I was using my old windows machine to play Doom 2 with brutal DooM, Then I fell ill with covid-19, I still trudged on through doom 2, becoming much more sloppy as my sickness grew and faded, eventually, after I got better, it was one day before Easter, and then I caught my ex cheating on me, and came to the revelation of all the ways they abused me and manipulated me. After a massive month long fight, I needed time to recover mentally. I never got back around to Doom, but got into M.U.G.E.N to pass the time and try wacky stuff, lasted about 3 months. Eventually, while using my old crappy windows PC to browse the web with Brave, a browser promising to be safer and more secure, I, by complete accident, opened up a TOR private tab rather than a regular one, when I went on searching up what I wanted, I realize that brave used a onion search engine rather than regular clearnet google and got a nasty virus. After that I formated my PC and I switched to firefox. Then after I noticed my speed was dropping because of my PCs age and specs, So after many people kept telling me to switch, I made the switch to Linux. It took me about 6 months of experimenting to see what fit, and just about a few weeks ago, I finally chose Arch Linux. After I got heavily back into doom, and I played with all the mods. But eventually I could not take the nagging anymore to finish doom 2. I installed maps of chaos and cyber's monster randomizer for an added challenge, and played on ultra violence, around half way through, the next day I woke up feeling sick, but luckily it was not covid again. I managed to pass the stage I was stuck at by pure accident by accidentally stumbling uppon the secret exit, which led me to wolfinstein. Today I finished the rest and I blew the icon of sin to bits. I am proud of myself, after 1 whole year of fighting real internal demons, and fake virtual demons, I have finally finished the entirety of Doom 1 (plus Thy Flesh Consumed and Sigil), and Doom 2 (Maps of chaos). 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
