Why are people running into walls on Zandronum servers?

Set up Doomseeker for the first time and I was kinda surprised by the fact that I was doing decently as I'm usually shit at multiplayer FPS. Then I noticed everyone was hugging walls. Is my client desyncing or did I just join a strange server?

 

EDIT: I was playing against bots. Well that's unfortunate.

Desync wasn't even an option to begin with. Zandronum uses host-frame replication, player bodies don't desync as the client doesn't simulate them but instead uses the absolute positions the server sends every update (3 tics?).
