Some Wad Reccomendations

I've been playing PWads since about a month after covid, so I've played a fair few wads. That being said, I've noticed my skills are very lacking when it comes to the harder stuff (Sunlust, Sunder, TotG, etc.) I was wondering if someone has some wads that are easier than those, but also harder than stuff like the third episode of Scythe or MSCP. I tried Scythe 2 and it was very fun until the jungle levels, then it got too tyson for my tastes. I guess I'm asking for some low to mid level difficulty slaughter, preferably something that isn't an hour for each map. I have found that I like the speed map style of things like Scythe and MSCP, which is why I brought those two up specifically. Also on the off chance that this affects things, when I play casually I UVmax with saves allowed outside of fights.

 

TL;DR: give me mid difficulty slaughter

Play around with the search options on the forum too as there are lots of WAD recommendation threads floating around.

As for the recommendation above I have been playing through this list and recommend it. I am playing the in order of increasing difficulty and am playing through Valiant now. Not particularly focused around speed maps though.

Um, a good portion of Haste as well as Going Down sounds like what you're looking for. Although the latter half of the former really gets ouchy. Though many of the maps in the latter thirds of Ancient Aliens and Valiant would also fit that description.

I can't believe I'm going to recommend this, but give the enigma episode a try.

If you don't play on UV, it's roughly medium difficulty, and verges on slaughter in places, and the levels can be fairly short if you're fast.
