This thread is primarily for any mappers to request me to play their own work and comment on it. I would prefer to play single maps or short sets of maps that are recent, but any submissions will be considered. My preference is to play in the Woof source port, so wads that will run in Woof are given priority but I am also willing to play GZ Doom or other source ports as well.

 

I would prefer not to play excessively long maps either but sometimes if the mood strikes me I will. Slaughter maps are fine too, as well as combat puzzle type stuff but not excessively difficult and if it is then please mention it or suggest HMP if the map is balanced for it.

 

Please only submit maps that are completed (or nearly complete) as I am very unlikely to play anything twice. I also reserve the right to refuse any maps based on new criteria that I hadn't thought of as of the writing of this op

this one's eleven (ten if you don't take the secret exit in map05) fairly short maps, then. I can blast through it in 2-ish hours. GZDoom required, everything else in on the readme. I think everything else is quite self-explanatory. Uhh, UDMF, try not to use mouselook or jump as it breaks the flow of some of the maps (ex. MAP10)

i will say... Not really meant for continuous play, despite what it may appear to be. The ammo at the end of MAP01 was just there for IF you were.

Also, I must warn you... There is a significant increase in difficulty around map08, the thing is, i made these maps relative to my skill, and it just so happens to be that I got significantly better between the creation of map07 and map08.

If you want to i am looking for more feedback on my ultimate doom 1 map set. After i had Sandwedge play it i rework stuff on ep. 1 and i am looking for feedback on it to see if i need to make more work on it. It's called Abandon: Shadows of darkness. Since the last time when Sand played it i got it to work on DSDA doom now (i don't know how woof source port work but you want to try it you can but i recommend DSDA) i can leave a link here if you want to play it.

I should let you know that there are levels in ep. 2 since i just updated the link but the only playable levels in ep. 2 is E2M1, E2M3, E2M4, E2M8 and E2M9. Please ignore E2M2, E2M5,E2M6 and E2M7 since i am still working on them. The feedback will be very helpful since i am looking for more of it so i can make the wad better. Thank you in advance if you do end up playing it and giving feed back.

Yeah, my bad. I get pretty inundated with requests as it is and don't get around to everybody. Some simply get lost in the cracks as I try to balance playtesting with work and other things I want to do. Also, I was out of town for a few days, so I've had some catching up to do. I'll see what I can do for you this weekend.

I suggest the map Poison Isles, E1M4, as it's one of my favorites from it and not too long, and sort of the most 'accessible' of the maps. And I just think it's really cool! Maps E1M7 and E1M8 are the wad's best, and quite different from its other maps, but they're not easy, and for a player new to them they might easily take an hour or more. (But of course I still recommend them to anyone, heh.)

Of course I hope anyone else who hasn't tried the maps might try them, even if just walking around and checking them out. Especially the last two maps, because I'm really proud of them and they took considerable effort from me. The release topic, with screens, is here: 

EDIT: The topic also includes a stroller I managed of E1M8 and UV-speed demo for E1M7.

This is my first release so I'm very curious about feebacks, it's called Salirò and it's a clv2 limit-removing single map for Doom 2. Basically one small open area with a lot of cuteness and running around, monster count it's about 400 but don't let the number fool ya, it's no slaughter - just some surprise! : )

I'd like to also ask that people specify what complevel/how they playtested with their submissions! I will try to get to all of these as soon as I can but there is a lot already haha

The level was meant to build up atmosphere and be fairly easy, which is the majority reaction I got from my playtesters. In fact, most of the playtesters said that last room was an anticlimax! Sorry if you didn't have the best time with it though, if you'd like I did implement skill levels so perhaps playing on hurt me plenty in something like gzdoom would give the vibe I was intending. As mentioned in the text file, this map was a lot about working on my sector lighting and the like, so I doubt I'll make a map dark like this anytime soon.

So i don't how to tell what a complevel is in DSDA since i am still learning how the source port works. Other then that i'm glade you like it, a few things:

 

1. Sandwedge played the og version on his stream before i sent over the never version your playing now.

 

2. I am planing on doing a redux version of E1M1 in the future, i know it was really dark but i took that idea from Snax's Stickenly Installation which inspired me to make this mega wad set in the first place.

 

3. If there is any issues along the way of playing the maps, please let me know because i have plan on fixing stuff and redoing some maps after ep. 3 comes out (but i still need to finish ep. 2 at the moment).

 

But i'm glade your enjoying it and the midi in E1M2 is a Doomkid midi and wait until you get to E1M4 'torn' Still one of my favorite maps i reworked since the OG version and yeah it's dark as well and the midi for it fits so well for it too.
