NOTE: My computer just crashed for the second time play testing that map on GZdoom so there is something really screwed up with that.

I looked at it in editor and the only thing I can think of is the lines that are only 1 unit apart by that door causing the issue

A few things to point out:

1. You are NOT on a base as a matter of fact, you are on a virus-ridden ship which the .bat file hints at when you first start the game.

2. There IS a secret, it's a switch hidden behind the "unbreakable" box, just shoot the box a ton until it goes POOF!, hit the switch, and it will display a message saying that something has opened, the secret room is where I believe the red skull is located behind a lowering wall in one of the corners.

3. dead signal's actually a furry themed game, the freedoom stuff is there PURELY for placeholder purposes only, the new enemies in future version will be tougher and deal more damage and dismembering them will not as much as kill them (it'll be a different story when you go for the head), instead it will greatly weaken and handicap them, allowing for an easier kill.

4. Regarding lore, I kinda want to pull a garten of banban and have these secret messages and other wonderful stuff like that.

5. I've added an extra room with more to come in the future, I'm also planning to add more lore items to the game.

 

Overall, LOVED the video, I even made two little notes regarding the flashlight and a how to play section in the .bat file when I have time. Take care :D

It looks like I screwed up some linedefs/sectors because just nuking everything in the area and rebuilding fixed it so idk what happened

It was causing an error exiting E1M9 as well so I'd recommend downloading this fixed one. Sorry to keep making you download the same file lol, thanks for the playthrough!

For map 3, it sounds like I should remove a good portion of the pinkies from the stands.  Or maybe better would be to replace a portion of them with imps.

@thelamp I found it mildly amusing that while you were playing my second map and funneling the revenants and barons through the hallway you completely missed the secret right to your left with a BFG in it. It was opened when you flipped the switch so if you had looked to the left slightly you would've seen it.

Got one more update here, fixes a dodgy teleport closet and a lift in E1M9!

@thelampThanks so much for the video! It's super helpful and instructive to watch someone play it blind. I was so glad that the oversight on level 3 of the outdoor area didn't bother you too much. I never would have caught that myself, and it's an easy fix.

@thelamp I made another WAD, it is meant for vanilla/chocolate doom.

 

You can use chocolate doom or Woof with software renderer, don't forget to add -dehlump in the command line parameters.

That was cool how you beat the last fight without the rocket launcher! There is one there (its in a room attached to the big server room), but its probably a good idea to put one before the last room just incase. Thanks!
